Is this genuine or a con.????

I think he meant a syrup. Some look quite well, but you will be forever nervous on windy days.

Is this genuine or a con.????

Not so much hair left to stay in place. My question to you was just that, a simple question. I believe ebay is infested with thieves, con men, fences, and other people of ill repute, so I will not use it. But there are plenty of honest sellers and this could be one. The difficulty is picking...

Is this genuine or a con.????

Other than the fact he is semi-literate, what is there to suggest he is a thief? There are people in this thread who cannot spell, do you think they are all thieves? As trex points out, ebay sellers sometimes list stuff at odd prices so it comes up first in searches, hoping a buyer will...

    Was EddieO right?

My MH7 has attracted some comments. Of course, 99.99 per cent of people couldn't give a stuff what it looks like, but those that do take an interest seem to like it. "Cheeky" is a word I've heard and it's often described as 'little' as in 'that's a nice little bike'.

Is this genuine or a con.????

In the text it says the price is £1,150. Rubbish advert overall, but there are a couple of contact numbers, a location and he says he has the receipt. Nothing there to suggest it's any more dodgy than anything else on ebay.

What's going on with Team Hybrid/Falco Motors?

The conclusion of the panel on here was the Falco motor/system isn't up to much. So they are probably being sold as a job lot because no one wants to buy them individually.

Need E-bike for traveling around the world!

A properly designed small wheel bike is geared so that you don't need higher cadence to get the same speed. The Brompton folder is geared to support a lower cadence because suited commuters don't want to have to spin like Mark Cavendish. The seat, pedals, and handlebars will be in the same...

    Tyre width

No worries, as you've been advised 1.9" is probably a better choice for London roads. There will be nothing in the rolling resistance provided you use the correct pressures. Perversely, wider tyres can roll better than narrow ones: http://www.schwalbe.com/gb/rollwiderstand/fb_locale/en_GB.html

    Tyre width

Assuming you are doing a standard 250W motor conversion, the City Jets ought to do the job. The sidewalls might wear prematurely, so it would be worth keeping an eye on them. Most likely sign of problems will be tiny cracks in the sidewall where it meets the rim. To be fair, most people who...

    Tyre width

Something from Schwalbe that is 'ebike ready' makes sense if you are replacing the tyres anyway. Most tyres seem able to handle ebikes OK, but an ebike ready one will save you buying something that is too light by mistake...

    Was EddieO right?

Sorry to divert this fascinating thread to ebkes, but, cough, splutter, as an MH7 owner I have to comment. Weird seems an odd description, it's a balloon tyred 20" Bosch ebike - a fairly conservative design. The smaller wheels do aid climbing, so with a rider able to input some power it will...

    new e-bike. Thoughts??

The home page is a brute to load. Fairly standard rear hub motor bike, but it has what looks like an integrated 8ah battery. Fine if that's all you need, but it won't take you very far.

    Cube SUV Hybrid Pro

You need the correct pressure. Counter-intuitively, softening the forks can lead to a harsher ride. This is because the fork compresses a little, and stays compressed, over small bumps. After a few of these the fork is all but fully compressed. When you hit a bigger bump, the fork has very...

    Cube SUV Hybrid Pro

I'm surprised you find the bike doesn't perform well on trails. You've done what you can by reducing tyre pressures. Looks like it comes with Schwalbe Moto tyres, which are meant more for hard surfaces. You could try a more mountain bike/general tyre such as a Smart Sam. The forks are air...

Why on earth did I go and do it?

That's true, but Clarkson is a motoring hack who has no influence or relevance to the delivery of news. The fact he's been mentioned a couple of times in this thread demonstrates the strength of his cult of personality, nothing more. Humphrys speaks of being briefed on stories by BBC editors...

Why on earth did I go and do it?

The BBC is famously left leaning, which is partly why I cited broadcast media. Have a look at what John Humphrys had to say. The guy spent many years in BBC newsrooms, so ought to know what he's talking about...

Why on earth did I go and do it?

I am quite a bit different from those of whom I speak in the way I choose to live my life. If I came across your unlocked bicycle it would still be there after I passed. The media, politicians and corporate organisations have nothing to do with it - I am going by what I see with my own eyes...

Why on earth did I go and do it?

Some fair points Dan, but the problem is the subsection you quote is way too large in number. I see you live in Trowbridge in leafy Wiltshire, try an inner city for size and you might think differently. Happily for the real dregs, they are able to hide behind the sympathy you express for...

    Gazelle C7 versus Raleigh Forge

I suspect all the tests prove is that a more powerful motor will climb better than a less powerful one.

    Gazelle C7 versus Raleigh Forge

Gazelles are among the best made and finished bikes, as you have observed. My one concern would be poke from the motor. At one time, Dutch ebikes tended to have weakish motors. I believe that's often no longer the case, but I would want to establish if the Gazelle you are thinking of has...
