    Bafang BBS02 48v 750w software parameters?

I can get hold of the factory programmed specs quite easily. The reason I wanted Eclipse to send me the info, is that I knew that the batch they were sent, came programmed wrong. This will be the flash you are talking about. I thought that they would have to program the controller manually, and...

Inside a low end suspension fork?

That'll be why they only feel slightly better than the Cyclamatic suspension then lol

    Bafang BBS02 48v 750w software parameters?

Eclipse are being elusive (again) in providing info on how their latest batch of Bafang BBS02 48v 750w units are programmed. Two more e-mails unanswered  I want to know as much about the kit I've bought, as I can, and I don't think it would be unreasonable to let a customer know basic info...

Inside a low end suspension fork?

I've got a bog standard, low end, Suntour SR-XCT 80mm fork on my bike. I know it uses springs to absorb the road shocks, but does this kind of unit contain oil too, or is that feature on high end units only?

Why the Bafang mid drive has rekindled my passion for pedelecs

Yes, on PAS 1-3, it's just like riding a bike with a huge wind pushing you. The gears change fairly normally. No need for the piccy as I fitted my own, which I will post at some stage in a proper review thread.

Why the Bafang mid drive has rekindled my passion for pedelecs

I suppose my MAC 10T, rear hub, throttle only bike, made me a bit lazy... not only physically, but mentally too. No need to pedal and no need to change gears. Don't get me wrong, it was great fun, but it started getting a bit stale as time went on. I was also sceptical about it's off road...

    Skewered

I make sure the lever is totally horizontal, then I screw in the opposite side nut sort of hand tight, but not excessive. Then I push the lever totally vertical, using a fair bit of muscle power, but again not excessive. Is this the proper way to tighten these? Bloody scaremongers, the lot of...

Alcedo BBS01/BBS02 42T CNC custom chainring

Here's a few pics of the BBS01/BBS02 42T CNC custom chainring from Alcedo e-bikes factory, which has now replaced my Bafang standard 48T chainring. The standard chainring is a bit too large in my opinion, and the offset can be a little too far away from the BB for a decent chainline. The Alcedo...

    CNC Milling

When ordering a new chain ring for my Bafang BBS02, I noticed that it says it is CNC milled/machined. Being an inquisitive chap, and knowing nothing about machining processes, I decided to find out more info. This may sound quite sad, but I found it fascinating to watch how the whole process...

Total loss of power on steeper climbs

If the battery is the slide in docking type, then just make sure that the contacts are clean and free from oxidation. Rubbing with fine emery paper, then a quick blast with some contact spray should do the trick. I'm no expert, but I would have thought that putting petroleum jelly on the...

    Bafang BBS02 chain line

It's the cable exiting the left side that I don't like.

    Bafang BBS02 chain line

I'm going to go down the route of getting a stock 44T from Em3ev, to see if that improves the first and second gear issue. It'll improve torque in third gear anyway, if it doesn't work. http://em3ev.com/store/index.php?route=product/category&path=46 I want to try out their left sided thumb...

    Bafang BBS02 chain line

Trex, even if the offset is the same on the smaller chainrings, could you explain why a smaller chain ring improves chain line. Newbie style if possible

    Bafang BBS02 chain line

Ultra quick reply... wow... why aren't you out riding lol :p So, do you reckon if I fitted the 44T, it may cure my problem? I can pick up a stock Bafang 44T from Em3ev for peanuts. Plus I like the fact they are made out of steel, not aluminium like the Lekkie Bling Ring. Who cares about saving...

    Bafang BBS02 chain line

Having worked with the Bafang kit for the last couple of days, I have noticed the reasons behind the poor chain line. You don't really spend a thought on bike geometry, until you start fitting motors. Bafang have played it safe with the offset on the 48T, otherwise the teeth have a strong...

Well done Jonathan, although I had to look closely for the decimal point in your picture lol. Glad you're alright after the accident. Were you wearing a noggin protector?

    Bafang BBS02 chain line

I wonder if your PAS levels have been programmed slightly different to mine. I did e-mail Eclipse to ask how the latest batch are programmed, but have yet to receive a reply...... again :(

    Bafang BBS02 chain line

Big thank you to everyone who has provided answers in this thread.... BUT... To my pleasant surprise, after taking it out for a decent run this afternoon, I've come to the conclusion that even if I could use first and second gear, I wouldn't use them anyway. For most of the time I was pottering...

    Bafang BBS02 chain line

The chain would rub on the front derailleur and I spent a few hours trying to make it work. The link I posted above is a custom made one too, although it doesn't have the rims like you mention. I might have another dig about on ES. Some people are obviously having chain line issues, otherwise...
