I agree, out of warranty locked in /proprietary bikes have little or no value in my books . Very few or none make economical sense as used bike.

The only wire difference is your controller uses a white signal throttle wire colour and the ebay one and others use Blue as the signal wire instead .

I don't think so I use my 48v one at 44v ok, but it is only 4v difference in HVC so the battery meter doesn't show full charge for too long. If you are set up for OSF one could give it a try or see if 36v firmware loads up and works.

If the inner wire was bad or corroded then the outers will also be so, bets to swpa out both inners and outers in case of any snags. The best upgrade though are HDB's but will cost a bit more money though depends if the forks are Disc capable.

Going back to the control system used, it is a basic cheap system that uses speed control. To get anything better you have use a current control controller system such as the KT system then you get some nice power levels and control, the 5 power levels give approx. 13/20/33/50 & 100% power.
