    Installed throttle, battery life murdered?

Well the thing is i would pedal without ever engaging the gears. Just spinning very slowly so the sensor detects movement and kicks in. Yep I'm lazy on the work run. I've had a go pedalling hard today with it and the result was the same great speeds but the battery did do better even though...

    Installed throttle, battery life murdered?

Yeah that makes sense. It doesn't feel any faster than pas on high going uphill, but downhill, now that's a blast! Obviously useless for bigger commutes but I think deep down I knew that. I wish you could set the throttle up in a similar way, I know you could just not pull it all the way and...

    Stay safe!

Was avoiding some glass on a cycle path today... went over wet mud instead. Front wheel went under me and the bike almost lay down. Luckily a handful of throttle managed to jerk it back upright, so although my pants may have a brown print I rode it off! Be careful on those wet and miserable...

    Installed throttle, battery life murdered?

Chinese "chinazipu" controller. "Youe" rear 250w hub. "Zhejiang tienneng" generic type battery. Basic led panel and a cheap twist throttle retrofitted. This is the bike http://falconcycles.co.uk/product/falcon-spark-26-wheel-mens-electric-ht-mountain-bike/ Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk

    Installed throttle, battery life murdered?

Is this to be expected? The bike seems to run a little faster on throttle as opposed to pas on high setting. But when riding to work I would often "ghost pedal" as it's only a short way and let the motor do all the work. Now since installing a throttle I maybe go a couple mph faster this way but...

    Shifter for twist throttle

Where is the cheapest place to get a small rear thumb shifter for 6 speed? I have installed a twist throttle on my bike, with the revoshift gears I can still reach the brake lever but it's a bit of a stretch, want something compact that will bring my brakes back to a more comfortable position...

    Seat/trailers for bigger kids?

My 5yo daughter is growing fast and will outgrow the trailer very soon. So far I have seen the weehoo trailer which goes up to 9yrs but is quite pricey, and a few seats such as the bobike junior. Anyone carry older kids? Getting her on her own bike isn't really much use as we do some pretty long...

Dynamo Hub on Ebike? / Permanent Lights

Haven't ran them flat yet tend to charge them before any long rides, but typically travel an hour and a half with them switched on Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk

Dynamo Hub on Ebike? / Permanent Lights

Me and gf use these, has a nice low setting on front and high is bright enough for those unlit cycleways. Have used the battery pack style ones in the past but find the wires annoying, although with a decent battery pack these will run for longer. The included back light is plenty bright too and...

    Trailer towing and range

Hi John What is the seat you use? I have been looking at the bobike junior seat, and the wehoo turbo trailer, both of which quote being able to carry older children. Like I said the range is in theory, I am quite fit although I don't appear so anymore and do put in quite a lot of effort myself...

    Trailer towing and range

Anyone else tow a trailer? I take my 5yo everywhere in it, but on more eager assist modes range leaves a lot to be desired. If I am smart I can cover 40 miles in theory, on a 10ah battery. Is this reasonable? I find as expected the biggest killer is hills because of the extra load, on flatter...

    Wheel ticks intermittently

Well my bike is now silent, seems the oil did do the trick in the end. Thanks for all the suggestions Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk

    Wheel ticks intermittently

Probably. I'll find the noise and kill it eventually, its more of an annoyance than anything, almost distracting when it gets loud Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk

    Wheel ticks intermittently

For me it can be quite loud, like a pinging spoke sound (had this before on a mtb, oil fixed it) aready done the oil thing and it has improved for now but it tends to go away on its own from time to time. Are the motor bearings an easy job? Edit: Noticed you said the hub end too, haven't done...

    Wheel ticks intermittently

Could be the freewheel, perhaps my wheel tweaks are just coinciding with when the noise decides to hush for a bit, wpuld be just my luck haha. Unfortunately it only makes the noise with weight on it so that test won't help, should have mentioned that Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
