    Laptop replacement batteries

My Samsung laptop battery is on its way out and I'm going to buy a replacement from Duracell Direct soon. Unfortunately, I can't vouch for them as I haven't purchased from them before, but you can't go wrong with Duracell :) Link to your actual battery...

    Anyone good with cars?

Just goes to show how cheap parts are for little cars like the Micra. My mate paid way more than that for a CV joint for his Audi.

Is there any way of checking the strut and mount without removing it?

    Anyone good with cars?

I know a lot of you are saying to yourselves, " why doesn't the idiot just put it in the garage and describe the symptoms ". I suppose programs like Rogue Traders has made me a little paranoid lol. I would rather take a car into a garage, with the peace of mind that I know what needs fixing or...

    Anyone good with cars?

Thanks for the suggestion shemozzle999. I've tried driving slowly on flat even ground with full lock on, and the knocking doesn't appear. I've heard a mate's car when his CV joint was bad, and I would recognize the distinct sound. I'm not sure I would be feeling play when rocking the wheel...

    Anyone good with cars?

I think I read somewhere that Nissan over-engineered the Micra up to the change to the K12 shape (when Renault got their greasy paws on it. No offence Renault owners). The engine is especially bulletproof, and just needs a regular oil change and other service consumables. Also, a timing chain...

    Anyone good with cars?

Hee hee, that's probably the most sensible solution. It's the Pedelec tinkering mindset that I have embraced, that just makes me want to discover the way things work for myself. It's naughty and time consuming and I really should just leave it up to the professionals :D

    Anyone good with cars?

I'm hoping someone who is good with cars, can help me out with a problem with my runabout. It's a very basic car, a Nissan Micra 1.0 K11 2002 model with 90k on the clock. When turning right and encountering uneven road surface under the left wheel, there is a knocking sound coming from under the...

Help needed with car door latch problem

You don't realise how much friction and grip rust holds on a nut, bolt or screw, until you dissolve or remove that rust. Something that looks only mildly rusty, can give a great deal of grief, especially if it's located in an awkward place with no chance of getting a monster sized spanner on...

No excuses for not fitting a torque arm or two!

For the majority of the higher powered hub motor conversion kits, omitting to fit at least one torque arm is like wrestling daily with a crocodile. One day it'll bite you in the arse  In the past few years, I've read so many threads over on the Endless Sphere forum, where someone has face...

Help needed with car door latch problem

Plenty of dismantling/penetrating fluid. The good screw out, then a bit of light tapping with a hammer and wiggling of latch to break the grip of the stubborn screw.

Help needed with car door latch problem

My Micra runabout needed the driver side door latch adjusting a little, which can be done by loosening the 2 latch screws. The picture isn't the actual car, but the latch is very similar (too dark outside to take piccy) I grabbed a large pozidrive out of the toolbox and attempted to undo the...
