    Opinions on this bike please

I should imagine manufacturers have to design their bikes to stop fairly safely from speeds greater than 12mph. Even my Halfords Trax 79 quid special, stops me quickly at speeds of 25+ going downhill. Never needed any luck there :p I will take your advice on board though d8veh and look around...

    Opinions on this bike please

I do appreciate everyone's advice about going for a hydraulic braking system, but my reasons for not going this route are twofold. 1) I want to use the Bafangs original kit supplied cut-offs. Yes I know they manufacture hydraulic type cut-offs. 2) If I get myself into a situation where I need...

    Opinions on this bike please

Thanks for the replies so far, but as I mentioned earlier, I am totally ok with rim brakes. My previous bike had a heavy rear hub motor, and had no problems whatsoever with braking or reliability. Rim was checked regularly for wear and cracks, but was still fine after 1000's of miles. New rear...

Happy with V-brakes. Ran my Specialized Hardrock with V's and a powerful MAC motor with no problems. Running Kool Stop V-brake pads helps greatly though ;)

    Opinions on this bike please

Spotted this Felt bike, which I think might be suitable for my BBS02 build: http://www.leisurewheels.co.uk/m1b112s2p11683/FELT-Six-95-2014/RS_GB/44054 Could I have some feedback please on whether the Felt brand is a respectable one. Also, is the Shimano Tourney Revo shifters and Shimano Altus...

    Shifters and brake levers?

Yet again, the value of this forum shines through again. Thanks d8veh. I really thought that all the modern gear lever style shifters were integrated with the brake levers. The only touchy feely experience I get is at the local Halfords, and the instore selection of bikes isn't particularly...

    Shifters and brake levers?

Does any modern bike that has a twist gear selector, also have separate brake levers? All the quick fire type shifters appear to have integrated brake levers, which are no good for installing brake cut-offs. BTW, no suggestions to bodge a reed switch cut-off solution please. I want to use the...

Bafang BBSxx left sided thumb throttle

Cheers peeps. Of course, what a muppet I am  I wrongly thought that the thumb throttle plastic bit stuck out to the right more, like in this picture: Also, having only used twist throttles before, I had it in my head that thumb throttles were also manufactured side specific. This forum...

Bafang BBSxx left sided thumb throttle

Can only seem to find the Bafang BBSxx kits with a right handed thumb throttle included. Do they manufacture a left sided thumb throttle with original plug and play connectors? The reason I ask, is that I'll probably be using a BBS02 kit on a twist geared bike. As the rear gears are controlled...

    Wuxing brake cut-off levers compatibility?

This might seem like a daft question, but are the Wuxing brake cut-off levers compatible with mechanical type disc brakes? I've not owned a disc brake bike yet, so be gentle with me ;)

Any news on the Bafang BBS torque sensor version?

Will be starting to gather together parts for my next build soon. Anyone heard anything about whether Bafang is bringing out the torque sensor version of their crank drive? If there are no plans for this version, then I'll stick with the current one.

Battery placement solution for full suspension bikes

Just realised that this bike actually folds too  Can't imagine this does anything for the structural rigidity of the bike, but a handy bike to throw in the car boot, for the odd light trail day trip. BTW, I have no connection with Pedalease bikes lol

Battery placement solution for full suspension bikes

What a great and novel solution for mounting a battery on a full suspension bike. Wonder how secure it is though? Battery placement on a full suspension bike

Would you pay 25 grand for a 2nd hand Toyota iQ?

Browsing the web today, dreaming as usual of owning an Aston, when I stumbled across this travesty: Toyota iQ pretending to be an Aston Martin Now call me cynical, but this is not an Aston in the true sense of the prestige cars they lovingly craft. Someone decided to slap a bit of fancy...
