Any limitations on kit options for this donor bike ?

Slight correction - My SLA is 14aH The battery is good, but it illustrates the differences that weight/Li-*/power management can make. My 14aH SLA weighs in at a massive 12kg. I agree that the motor is probably not very efficient (its about 4 years old, tech moves on). Also, I have no power...

Any limitations on kit options for this donor bike ?

Your main advantage here is your own low weight. I would have thought that if you added another 15ah battery (giving you 30ah total) then you would get somewhere near the range you are looking for, assuming a fair amount of leg work. Just for reference, I have a 250 watt motor, and 15ah of SLA...

Any limitations on kit options for this donor bike ?

Hi Alex, Sorry if I've missed the info, but what sort of range are you looking for, and (if its not too personal) what weight are you and luggage? Also, what hills do you need to contend with? Does the Kalkhoff not achieve what you are looking for? Perhaps there is a way to use the...

    I had an accident... AGAIN!!!!

Other than the previously mentioned 'Perverting the course of justice' and the maximum sentence of 'life imprisonment', then yes, you would indeed be laughing. But probably not sleeping too well.

    Battery Bag

Hi all, I'm new here, so be gentle with me if you are all bored with this topic. I have searched long and hard for the right type of bag to contain 3 x 12aH SLA's on the rear rack of my kit built electric bike. I've tried all sorts, but nothing really worked. Until this week. I was...

    Homemade *bright* LED light setup

A good, and cheap source of LED's on Ebay: RED LED CAR STRIP UNDER LIGHT NEON FOOTWELL FLEXIBLE | eBay These are great, as they can be cut into 3 LED sections, are self adhesive and waterproof. Cheap too. You can arrange each section in series, and use enough to divide your battery...

Hi, new chap from Devon here

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, live in Devon and own two kit built pedelecs. I enjoy riding them with the other half, and we take out 5 year old along. I've picked up loads of tips from these forums in the past, and thought it was time I gave a little back (trust me, its only going to be a...
