    E-Bike Vision batteries

It will be interesting to hear how you get on with the big battery. My understanding is that these batteries don't take well to deep discharge. I don't know how deeply your battery will discharge after a week of use, but if its substantially below 50% , it would be worth considering charging...

I've not ridden an Oxygen bike, but my understanding is that if you are riding above the cut off speed, the motor does just that, cuts off, effectively making it an unassisted bike. The bike being used on that video didn't sound like like an unassisted bike at any point during the race.

Yes you are right trex, if the distance is underestimated that will result in the speed being underestimated.

    E-Bike Vision batteries

If the long charging times don't cause you too much inconvenience, personally I'd stick with the original slow charger. I've always treated my battery (the original 10Ah Panasonic) gently in terms of discharging it and it's still going strong at six years old. Charging the battery at a higher...

Just out of interest, I've had a look at this. The race distance is 243 metres (Starting from outside Park House / Java to the south of the St George's Road junction, and finishing on the north side of the Charlotte Street junction) I used a measuring tool which we use at work (Measure Map)...

Because it might be helpful? I think that drolly's question was directed toward consumers' experience of dealing with the company, rather than the specifics of the merchandise.

    Aldi Bicycle Work Stand

Aldi have a few bike related items in store from this coming Sunday, amongst which is this bike work stand. https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/sunday-29th-june/product-detail/ps/p/bicycle-repair-stand-1/ It has a 30 Kg capacity, so should be ok for electric bikes.

27 Month Kalkhoff Pro Connect Review

Thanks for bumping this back up again, it's rather well written, don't you agree? Anyway, I'm sorry to pi$$ on your strawberrys fishingpaul, especially after all your diligent research. As you will see from the date of the review, it was written years ago. I bought the bike as a tool to commute...

Sorry to pi$$ on your strawberrys fishingpaul, especially after all your diligent research. As you will see from the date of the review, it was written years ago. I bought the bike as a tool to commute to work and I didn't realise the implications of changing the rear sprocket. After I became...

D8veh appears view himself as some sort of self appointed industry insider who can predict how the ebike market will develop. I don't know what is going to happen in the coming years and neither does he. I am biased towards crank driven bikes having owned and used one most days for the past...

Yes you do. It is less taxing to ride an ebike than it is to ride an unassisted bike. I know exactly what Dave means, my wonderful Panasonic powered bike cuts the power at 15 mph and if I want to, I increase the speed from there. When it comes to a hill and my speed falls to 15 mph, the power...

    Pedestrian Crossing madness

No, I won't be there. Its about a 300 mile round trip for me and I am not sufficiently interested in ebikes to invest the time and effort to go. For me, ebikes are a useful tool, not a hobby. My wife works in PR and tourism marketing. I keep suggesting to her that she should test the appetite...

Thanks d8veh, I feel so much better now that you have endorsed me as being, "ok" for the last 12 months, I was feeling a little bit insecure, but now you have said that I'm ok, I'm feeling more confident. Cheers.

The original question was concerning why some people don't get the illegal nature of derestricted bikes and the problems that they can cause. I wonder if it was just coincidence that you chose option 2? And yes, I derestricted my bike by altering the gearing. I found that it assisted me beyond...

    1) Selfishness 2) Plain stupid and don't understand. 3) Type of character that is comfortable systematically breaking the law. 4) Want the benefits of motor vehicle ownership, but unwilling to accept full responsibility and pay for them. There may be more, but these are the main reasons.
