What to do with my Agattu

We need to know which model Agattu this is. I believe that Kalkhoff have made a range of Agattu bikes with Panasonic 24V crank drives, front hub motors and Impulse crank drives. For some reason, I'm thinking that he has a 24 Volt Panasonic motored model with a 7 speed Nexus hub gear and cable...

    Caterham’s Classic e-bike

The classic looked familiar when I first saw it, but I couldn't quite recall why. You are spot on with nicked from a fairground ride. That definitely is why it looks familiar. I had a Caterham car a few years ago. That was dangerous, but fun. Their ebikes just look dangerous, but they...

Separate speedo on a Bosch bike

App based cycle computers may be alright for leisure cyclists or sports cyclist, but commuters don't wont to be fannying about opening apps, waiting for a GPS fix and then pressing the start button before setting off. I need something which works without any intervention from me. I have...

Separate speedo on a Bosch bike

I've always used a wired speedo on my electric bike for this very reason and have never experienced any problems. As a brand, I like Sigma. Rightly or wrongly, they seem to have the edge in terms of quality.

Is It Safer Riding an Electric Bike?

I ride both types, a non-assisted Cube and a Kalkhoff Pro-Connect. I use both to commute along the same route which is a mixture of towns, rural 40 MPH A roads and country lanes. The type of bike you are riding makes absolutely no difference to safety. Safety comes from the bike rider. It's no...

Moustache eBikes - What do you think?

The Penny Farthing uses similar technology, but I'm more of a Safety Bicycle fan.

I read about this airbag helmet thing. What do you think?

I think I have seen this before, probably on here. It's not something that I would like to wear and I wonder how prone it will be to going off at the most inconvenient moments (sadly something which I have experience of, but not with bicycle helmets). This could even prove to be dangerous under...

    Revolutionary Ground Breaking Invention?

Someone else posted an article about the same product few days ago. The consensus of opinion seemed to be that it was a heap of **.

ACF-50 or GT85, too good to be true?

The best chain lube is the sticky grease which coats a new chain. If I could buy it, I would use it all the time.

how easy is it to make an E bike out of a conversion kit?

You need to consider your long term intentions with this bike conversion. If they are to use it as a commuting work horse, you would be wise to invest more in decent quality kit, especially a kit which comes with a good battery. Keep in mind that there are no bargains and that to buy cheap...

    Side swipped by a van.

I've just had a read through the thread and watched the video again. It does seem as though that second driver is intent on keeping in convoy with the first and if he is lost or unfamiliar with the area, his motivation to do so will be high causing him to take risks and disregard other road...

    Side swipped by a van.

It looks like the second van deliberately squeezes you into the kerb. Had anything taken place prior to the video clip which might have antagonised him? Regardless of weather anything had taken place, its no reason to put you in danger. I for one will never eat another Cornish Premier Pasty...

Talk to me about running costs

Returning to your question of ebike v car etc. Battery life is a big factor to consider. I think the phrase, "buy cheap, buy twice" is highly relevant here. Hub motored bikes probably give the battery a harder time than the Panasonic or Bosch crank driven machines give their batteries, so the...

    Flecc Passes The 25k Barrier

I think that it would be a good idea to provide recognition for the amount that a person has contributed to the forum. Something which a member gains at set number of contributions. Perhaps at 25000 posts a person could be awarded the Tripple P (Prolific Pedelecs Poster).

    Flecc Passes The 25k Barrier

It was a shame that he was stripped of his Pedelec Guru status. I still find it hilarious that some members of the forum didn't like the idea of a Guru, Senior Members and Junior Members. A person who contributes 25000 posts needs to be recognised in some way.

    3d printers

I thought I'd ticked the No Publicity box. I don't really know what I'd do with a torque plate, so I'll pass on the kind offer. Thanks Tom.

    3d printers

A complete stab in the dark this: Mandibular advancement device ? They were the first words that came into my head. I've no idea why. And for some reason, I think they are used to treat sleep apnea.
