    Bike for smaller people.

Simon is a wizard with Solidworks - it won't take him long to fit the whole carboodle inside the rear triangle.

    oxygen torque?

I think Bosch figures may have been converted to the 44T Classic chainwheel for comparison. 75NM is roughly equivalent to 75NM*34/44=58NM at the rear wheel when 34T cog is selected.

first thought at breakfast this morning: Simon Rafferty's friction drive would suit the Brompton wouldn't it?

I don't think the SR suspension fork is good enough for the bike. Take it away and the weight could go down to sub15kgs. The chainstays seem also a bit crudely made.

Kudos Rapide gets 108 miles out of a 10.4 Ah battery.

I would have thought some people may find the trick useful. I'll try it tomorrow. I'll set my cut off speed to 12mph on my converted Giant. It should still give me full power to climb hills, let me enjoy a little excercise on flat roads and extend the range.

KD, I suspected there was a trick somewhere. I suppose it's legal because it can be achieved by lots of people, if accompanied by fair caveat. * when ridden mostly at above the cut off speed.

    Leaving the EU

yes, but Westminster cannot refuse. If the Scottish government want one, they'll have it anyway. Same situation if they want to have their own referendum with regard to joining the EU. I think that the votes are split down the middle 49/51, it won't be a clear cut. Unless we get out then back...

    Leaving the EU

Within the two years of article 50, Scotland may vote for independence then apply for EU membership. That's a real possibility. We will be boxed in all sides by EU land, not unlike Switzerland. The Pound will lose its reserve currency status, its importance will be like the SF. We don't want...

besides SW 4f guide, here is my estimate for a fit rider keeping to around 13mph and in ideal conditions: light assist, thin tyres, without throttle and without suspension: 5wh/m air suspension: 1wh/m coil spring suspension: 1.5wh/m comfort road tyres: 0.5wh/m knobblies: 1wh/m folding frame...

    Leaving the EU

it's interesting to note that Switzerland have been in negociation for a special relationship with the EU since 1994 and the negociations get them nothing yet, they are still stuck with their EFTA membership. May be that's a warning for the leave camp. When they voted to limit EU migrations...

    Leaving the EU

Switzerland is still a member of the Schengen countries. it can't stop EU migration and has to adopt most of EU laws. You can buy a house and move there to live and work if you want to (that is if you can afford the price of houses there). Swiss pay less to the EU than we do.

    Leaving the EU

democracy is expensive, we can't vote on every single issue. That's why most of our institutions are run by delegates. after thought: democracy may even be more expensive to participate than religion. Luckily, we can opt out of both.

    Leaving the EU

yes, it does look that way to me but if we leave, we won't be there to see the cost of placing pride before practicality. I fear that unless we rejoin the EU at some stage in the future, twenty years from now, our influence in the world will be reduced little by little to just the English language.

    Leaving the EU

The 'triumvirate' (the European Commission, The Council of the EU and the European Parliament) is composed of directly and indirectly elected representatives of member countries so they do have democratic underpinning. We can vote out our own representatives in the EU. We can't vote out...

    Leaving the EU

the tories always prefer taking money where people are not looking. latest poll: remain: 51% leave: 49% leave has a small momentum at the moment.

    Leaving the EU

one thing is certain if we stay in, the EU budget will rise much faster than inflation because of their ambition, more people will resent our contribution to the EU budget than even now.

    New Gtech ebike

besides the range anxiety, the reduction in capacity per charge goes up with the maximum current draw. A small capacity battery (5AH) will suffer much faster reduction in capacity than a 10AH battery on the same bike. The same happens to your cordless drills. Also, if you need to recharge twice...
