    ebikes on a roll

Thanks for your answer you both. I'll try not to consume my battery too fast... but still I just want to go to max speed everytime I ride it. Flec, I think people either know the battery type or not. If they don't know what is LiFePO4, it's very unlikely they would know what is Lithium Polymer...

    ebikes on a roll

Dave, do you mean it was an error to have a LiMnO2 battery because it may fail later? And if a battery can be used for 20 years, why should we worried about it being kaput or why does Flecc need to change up to 6 lithium battery? ps: Btw, why do you both write the complete chemical name? Isn't...

    ebikes on a roll

Thanks for the precision. But my point is that now with the Lifepo4 battery with 2000 lifecycle. We should be able to use them much longer? And I suppose 2000 lifecycle is to go below 80%, there are additional usage time for these bike. BTW, why does some seller show 1000 lifecycle for Lifepo4...

    You vs the average cyclist

Today I was cycling at 30km/h... and there was a road bike guy that was so much faster than me. I was really surprised and tried to reach him on the red light to look at his bike... it was just a normal bike (not electric) with thin tyres. And he doesn't look like a racer guy. He didn't even...

    ebikes on a roll

My understand is that battery is considered Kaput when the full charge is lower than 80% of its initial capacity. But I suppose that even when it's lower than 80% the bike can still be used? (but with lower range). I suppose that's why phone users have their phone for many years?

Thanks for the answer d8veh. I going to purchase all the required tools and see how things could work together. Do you mind to provide a link or picture of the sealed bearing type BB? I don't really know what is that thing.

    Conhismotor electric bike review

Thanks for your answer. I also purchased a crank removal tool: ICETOOLZ Crank Extractor Today got a problem with the peddle: I think it wasn't fixed well enough and now the crank arm worn out at pedal connection: I've been to Evan cycle and they said I've to change the complete chainset...

    Belt locks - Nice innovation?

Actually I'm thinking of using this belt lock alone as this is enough to get insured. Carrying 2 locks is too much hassle: It adds 4 kg to your bike and is too long to lock/unlock. If you're completely insured just with this lock, that may be fine. Otherwise the insurance company would require...

    Buy or convert?

For my first electric bike, I decided to purchase a complete bike for the warranty and to have someone that can help you when you have problems with your bike. But I think (when I'll have more knowledge) later I'll purchase a small folding bike and build it myself. For £500 budget, you may...

    Belt locks - Nice innovation?

Hello there, I was looking for a sold secure silver rated lock and I've found this Hiplock: It is a bit gimmick but quite interesting: You just keep your lock on your belt until you need to use it. Demonstration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORwnAny2lM0 As bonus, it can be used as...

    Conhismotor electric bike review

Thanks for your explaination Flecc. I suppose for my case, Li(NiCoMn)O2 was the most adapted. I'm continuing the tests, after 15km I've lost 1 charger bar (but I peddle). I suppose it's quite good. On throttle only I can reach 32km/h. When I peddle to the max I reach 35km/h. That's...

    Conhismotor electric bike review

Thanks for your advise Oigoi. I'll look for a way to change the front chainwheel. But actually I have many more problems to fix. I'm going to ask the seller but I've to wait until the end of the weekend. - I don't know how to adjust the front and back suspension (it's maybe not possible to...

This thread is great, I have exactly the same problem as you have. You can add this to your list: Downtube FS - 12 kg - £490 According to reviews, it's not bad. You have also some cheap and light bike (don't know what it worth) The Giant Conway 12kg - £130 Or a "no name" bike 12,5kg - £150...

    Conhismotor electric bike

Guys, we should all calm down. We are all adult and mature. Electric bike at 22mph isn't going to be in ANY WAY dangerous. And normal cyclists can peddle at this speed so no problems. What's the difference between 15 and 22mph? Would that be notified by any way on the road? And in US, Canada...

    Noobie question please

I advise you to test an electric bike first in a shop to see what 15mph means. For me it was really slow. Having an electric bike means you are going to add 10 kg to your normal bike. You are probably going to be faster on hills, but you're going to cycle slower on flat road due to the...

    Conhismotor electric bike

Completely agree with fleec. Actually I don't mind having a moped at all (and the license/insurance). It's just not practical for me : I don't want to get it stolen and I can't carry it in the train. Just want to still be able to ride on cycle and bus lane because it's convenient and less...
