    Nexus 8 speed issue

A Tonaro Esprit eh. I think eddieo secretly aspires to own one of these beauties. Nothing unusual there. A LBS should be able to take a look at that. Giant produced a non assist bike with exactly that set up.

    Nexus 8 speed issue

Actually eddieo makes a good point. The nexus hub is standard bike fodder, not exclusively ebike related. A bike shop should be able to sort this out if you don't fancy it yourself. I'm sure that it will only be a rear wheel out and re-fit properly job, about 30 mins work max if you are lucky.

    Nexus 8 speed issue

The only thing that I can think of is that the anti rotation washers aren't fitted / engaged properly or that the cassette joint isn't assembled correctly. The cable guide arm does have a tendency to want to rotate in the opposite direction to the rear sprocket, but this should be prevented by...

    Nexus 8 speed issue

It sounds like the cassette joint is rotating. Have you tinkered with anything that may have brought this on? Page 17 onwards of this document shows how the cassette fits together. Don't be intimidated, it's simple to pull it apart and re assemble in practice. The first section regarding...

Yet another Bargain Bosch powered bike

Rumour has it that after Saville had handed out the heavy metalic, "Jim'll Fix It" medallions,he would run to his dressing room and activate a giant electro-magnate. This is just a rumour and the electro-magnate has never been found.

Yet another Bargain Bosch powered bike

I've no experience of the Bosch system, but my Panasonic crank drive could push the range to 60 miles with extremely conservative battery use and when the battery was new. My battery is a 24 Volt 10 Ah model, the 8 Ah Bosch has a slightly higher capacity due to its 36 Volts, so in the region of...

Yet another Bargain Bosch powered bike

Cor-blimy, a Bosch powered bike for a bag of sand. I quite like the look of the bike and it will probably be comfortable to ride. Not much in the way of specification, but definitely worth a close look if you're in the market for a crank drive bike.

    Justebikes. Removal of thread.

Very true and well put. What I don't like is a dealer (I am talking generally here, not just one) deciding what I can and can't read. I'd like to make that decision. Threads being removed because they don't fit an individuals particular commercial agenda doesn't do this site any favours...

    Justebikes. Removal of thread.

If the thread has been removed due to pressure from a trade member, that is a shame. Well it's more than a shame, it's actually quite disgusting. We have seen this happen too many times in the past. Trade members come on here, wading into threads and pushing their products, often with a very...

    Justebikes. Removal of thread.

Unless my computer is playing up, a thread concerning forum member (20ston) who purchased a Haibike from Justebikes has been removed. Looking at my post history, it appears that all of the contributions that I made to that thread have also disappeared. Is it my computer, or has the thread...

where can I buy the panasonic and bosch batteries ?

I think that the OP isn't looking for a new battery. He is after an old knackerd one for little outlay so that he can work out a way of copying the case and filling it with cells from an alternative source. Maybe this could be beneficial to us all if someone could help him out? I'd let him have...

    Spot the difference...

I've never understood this Ignore List business. People have threatened me with it in the past. It's a bit like a peeping-tom or a stalker sending you a message to say that they won't be coming round after dark to observe you.

    Spot the difference...

let's be clear, Union Jacks are placed on goods as part of a calculated act intended make the potential purchaser believe that he or she will be buying a British product. The assumption being that this will create a feel-good factor because the potential British customer will believe that they...

    Justebikes

It's beyond belief that you are still without a bike. I have read Justebikes account, which when you cut through all the crap, amounts to nothing more than James dripping about how it's all the manufacturers fault. I notice that if I go onto Justebikes website I can add one of these bikes to...

    2012 Kalkhoff Sahel Compact Nexus

I think the Bosch actually has a slightly higher capacity battery. Old Panasonic 24V x 10 Ah = 240 Wh Bosch 36V x 8 Ah = 288 Wh Not a great deal separating them so the range of the Bosch with the marginally higher capacity battery will slightly exceed that of the 10Ah Panasonic. This...

    Kalkhoff battery replacement

I agree with a lot of this and I don't automatically buy on-line in order to obtain the cheapest possible price. I like going into shops and having a look at the goods before I buy and I think it's worth paying a premium to preserve a presence of goods and tangible after sales support on the...

    Kalkhoff battery replacement

That's a staggering difference. How is the extra £225 Treasure Island premium accounted for? I know there are stock holding costs, advertising, a showroom and customer backup, but presumably the company selling the battery at £170 has to fund some of the same overheads. But £395 on Treasure...

Panasonic crank drive with 3 speed hub and other Q's

Another vote for hub gears from me. I have a Panasonic powered bike with an 8 speed hub. As 10 mph has said, I find myself missing out gears as the spacing is sometimes too close. An Ebike gives you more flexibility in each gear and you can effectively short shift. Three gears would probably...

    2013 BH E-motion Neos

I have been riding a crank drive for over 4 years & over 11000 miles. This has been over very hilly terrain and I am capable of a high rider input. There have been no problems with the Alfine 8 speed hub (appart from a short period of clunking / slipping which seemed to rectify itself). I have...
