New London Ebike hire - Tenders Invited

the bikes can be fully charged all the time if they restrict the rental time to 1 hour. The bike must then travel less than 15 miles and won't be released from the docking bay / made available until it's fully recharged. I can see Moustache designing such a bike.

a quick reading of the outline document suggests about 1,000 bikes, 5 years, 100 miles per day per bike. Each bike must be made to run and be maintained for 200,000 miles at the cost of about 50,000 each - running cost: 25p per mile max. It's possible.

As shemozzle999 said, you just take the money. You hire Accenture consultants to get you the contract, subcontract out the design and manufacturing to our friendly French and German neighbours and the maintenance to Hatti who'll work for peanuts.

Kudos Eiger NuVinci now £1265 and Derailleur now only £799

there are several versions of the TCM motor. The OEM version has a bigger bottom bracket and two anti-torque pins on the chain side, not suitable for use as a kit. These motors can be supplied with thicker wires for more current like in the woosh Krieger. The kit version has standard size bottom...

Need E-bike for traveling around the world!

just stop a bit and think again. You can't take a 16kg folder into the cabin, it has to go into the hold. But you can take 160WH Lithium battery legally into the cabin. The modern 36V 4.5AH battery weighs battery weighs less than 1kg now. By next year, that battery will weigh 700grs. You can...

I think Colban wants to add rear hydraulic brakes rather than front hydraulic. He could save himself a lot of bother if he does what you suggest.

Is this genuine or a con.????

I reckon he does not care who wants to buy on ebay. He can always refund you and relist, does not even have to say it's a mistake. He probably only wants to encourage potential buyers to phone him and do a deal outside ebay. Clever idea though.

you can see the point of a small folder that can easly be checked in as luggage though?

@KD: your idea of DHL the batteries ahead is good but I still think his idea of carrying 2 x 160WH Lithium packs inside the cabin is much more practical and cheaper. That'll give him about 30 mile range a day. The Gallego w/o battery is about 16kgs.

    Lithum Sulphur battery announcement

the only way to charge a hybrid car in 3 minutes is to put unleaded petrol in the tank. If you want to charge your 15AH battery in 2 minutes, you need an charging current of 450A. You'll need this kind of copper wire inside and outside the battery:

    Lithum Sulphur battery announcement

It's a good idea, but needs to allow a bit more time, 5 minutes may be. You need to push into the battery about 500WH at the charging station to be realistic. If you have to do so in 2 minutes, the battery has to accept 30KW input power in those 2 minutes. Quite dangerous.

that Rubbee reminds me of the Sinclair Zeta: Honestly, after you ride the Gallego, you'll wonder why would anyone bother with electrifying the Brompton. It's cheaper than the Brompton for a start.

What's going on with Team Hybrid/Falco Motors?

Cyclezee did do them for a time. Personally, I think the design isn't bad but too complicated for its own good and way too expensive. Now that the Hybrid Team appear to be pulling out, I don't think the stock is worth anything like £3000 (only 24 new motors, you'll need to import working dongles...
