    5kg battery in my jacket?

cwah, you are mad, mad... Why do you want to carry 100 cells when 52 cells will do? Get a conventional battery, pop in 4 extra rivnuts, cover it with a blanket if you like and lock it like most ordinary people do.

    Woosh kits...

the BBS01 and BBS02 that Woosh and Eclipse sell are very easy to fit. It's not the same with the hub kits. Firstly, the pedelec sensor is made for square tapered bottom brackets and a pig to fit on bikes with Isis cranks. It only works if you fit it to the chain side and you need about 10mm...

Buying doesn't seem all that easy

the Big Bear has 20A Lishui controller, the BMS on the Bear has 28A continuous, offering about the same pulling power as the Ezee bikes which are top dogs in this department. The Zephyr-B's BMS has 20A continuous, a bit less grunty than the Bear albeit using the same motor and controller, so...

    xiongda questions

I wouldn't worry about the shunt on the Lishui controller. It'll give you plenty of power as it is. Just get a 15AH battery to go with the kit.

    xiongda questions

the moment of danger happens when one clutch is released then the other is engaged. If both are engaged at the same time (totally unlikely but still possible malfunctioning), you will have a sudden death situation. The two clutches are adjacent but move in opposite directions. If there is a...

Advice on bike for hillsome commute

The big hill outside Chew Magna only 8.5% gradient at its steepest, it's not very challenging. You don't need chain drives until you hit 13%-15% gradient. The Petite is a bit faster and stronger hill climber than the Santana. You also have the option of 10AH battery or 15AH battery.

Has anyone ridden the Woosh Krieger?

Andy is a big guy and he also prefers hub drives. The Krieger is a bit small for him.

Advice on bike for hillsome commute

Where do you live? 5 mile commute: nearly any bike can do this - you don't have to spend as much as £1,000 for this. But if you have a massive hill in the middle, then you may need a strong motor. The Woosh Petite (£675) is a surprisingly strong hill climber because it has 24" wheels instead of...

MTB or Hybrid with full throttle, up to £1500 ish, for short commute

Having Cyclezee on your doorstep is a bonus, if it were me, I wouldn't want to buy from anywhere else. This said, nowadays, electrical parts are modular, most parts are easily removeable. Sending the bike back for repair is rare, but as with everything else, when you add an extra link to the...

MTB or Hybrid with full throttle, up to £1500 ish, for short commute

you need LBS essentially for mechanical maintenance, electrical parts do not need maintenance. If you can maintain the bike mechanically yourself, then there is no real need to buy from a local shop. If your battery or the LCD dies, calling directly support at the manufacturers is the quickest...

Has anyone ridden the Woosh Krieger?

I have. The Krieger is slightly lighter, has about the same raw power as the Big Bear but better weight distribution. The ride is similar to a bike fitted with BBS01 18A 350W kit. I am partisan to crank drives, I prefer the Krieger, it's quiet and fast. http://wooshbikes.co.uk/?krieger
