Trying to find an 8 speed chain for a crank drive motor.

woosh have them for £5 if I remember correctly. It's a 5 minute job. You'll need a £2 chain tool to break the old chain and a link to fit the new chain. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bike-Chain-Rivet-Extractor-Pin-Splitter-Bicycle-Breaker-Remover-Tool-Part-Kit-/161521730577 you don't have to use a...

I found the xiongda is not faster nor more torquey than the BPM, just lighter.

    Are Cheap Bikes OK.

cheap bikes are OK but that depends very much on what you want. The challenge is to lessen the maintenance. At the moment, e-bikes need too much of looking after. You still need to check your brakes, lights, spokes, tyres, chain and gears after a few hundred miles, 10 times more oftern than...

    Normally Closed reed switched

you are nearly always better off with a Hall sensor. Small, sensitive, no bounce, easy to pot and glue even inside the brake body and you simply need to flip the magnet to change the polarity of the signal.

    What should i buy? Trike/eped/allseasons emotor/ e scooter moped..

he's got a back problem. Pushing 60kgs in/out of the house is something I would not recommend. A full-sus lightweight bike with BPM motor like the Zephyr-B is much more sensible, comfortable on the back and wrists. Because the market for e-peds is tiny, if it does not work out, its resale value...

    Omni wheel

I can't see why not. It should be dead easy to put this system through EN15194 certification. The pedal sensor acts like a torque sensor. You clip them on your pedals, the sensors tell the wheel when there is a load on either pedals. It'll take 30 minutes to convert a bike like they said.

    What should i buy? Trike/eped/allseasons emotor/ e scooter moped..

These bikes are cheap because the components are cheap. the website says 250W motor, 59kgs. http://www.eped.co.uk/?product=iped-type-s I don't think they are road legal. The website says the bike is an EAPC, which is wrong because EAPC allowable maximum weight is 40kgs. These e-peds are not more...

If your maximum range is 25-30 miles or less, the Woosh Zephyr-B which has BPM motor, hydraulic brakes and SR NCX seat post, about the best equipped bike for this sort of money. If you need a bigger range, the Big Bear which has BPM motor, 15AH battery and NCX seat post. On the budget side...

    Small Battery Bargain.....?

you can use 14AWG or 16AWG silicon wires. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16AWG-Silicon-Wire-Super-flexible-high-temperature-1m-Red-1m-Black-UK-seller-/231295899052 When you connect up the packs with wires, you get a little spark like when you use the jump leads to start a car. Small Battery Bargain.....?

don't do this. You need thick wires for the large currents between batteries and controller. The wiring is bulky and dangerous. You need a properly designed printed circuit board to make the connections between the electronic elements (diodes or FETs + resistors, capacitors and transistors)...

    New eZee DT Downtube Batteries

If you haven't used 3400mAH cells, now it's time to try. These lightweight cells transform the bike. I tried them on the Woosh Zephyr-B. The bike becomes so much more nimble after shedding 4 lbs in comparison to the Big Bear.

Dahon Helios SL electric conversion advice

don't worry about controlled half turns. It's just an easy way to get the wheel moving in the right direction. Bring the wheel to the centre line, then bring all the spokes to the same tension. If you do this for the first time, make sure your spokes are tight but not too tight, you can ride a...
