    Brexit, for once some facts.

Arguably removal of VAT on tampons. Though there is quite a strong argument the EU would itself have done this (because the UK set the process to achieve it in motion). But UK decided it would be better NOT to get this across the EU, but positively to wait for brexit/end of transition so they...

Did the citizens of Kent vote for brexit? Don't it always seem to go That you don't know what you've got Till it's gone They paved paradise And put up a parking lot More of the up-in-arms story...

I have mixed feelings about that. Part of me has long wondered at the traffic crossing the channel/North Sea, driving across England, and often parts of Wales or Scotland, then another sea crossing, to get to Ireland. Losing that traffic might reduce how busy some of our roads are. Might...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

There can be much discussion, even argument, about roads in Wales, but there have been massive improvements, often substantially funded by EU sources, over the past few decades. I have often thought some roads here actually feel more like some French roads to drive along than many English roads...

At some level we need agreements with those around us. Whether that is across the whole EU, each EU member, each constituent of the UK, each county (or region or whatever), why, even each parish if you will. We can't avoid this need. But if it is set at the lowest level, you'll hardly be able...

Is that the PwC whose partners are taking a 10% pay cut? The same PwC thrown out as auditors of BooHoo? The same PwC that had an 8% fall in profits last year (before Covid)? The same PwC in a major bust up over London Stadium and their responsibility? The same PwC being sued over unethical...

Even the government seems unable to summon up much optimism. Perhaps we need the NHS to provide optimism injections for everyone? Just adding: I suspect optimism doesn't need to be stored at -70, so could probably be given alongside the AstraZenica injections.

It includes this: Many in the UK, especially on the left, are in despair that this moment has arrived. For them, this can never be the journey to somewhere better: instead it is the equivalent of the last helicopter leaving the roof of the US embassy in Saigon in 1975. But doesn't say whether...

But no-one ever takes responsibility when our GDP doesn't rise by 23%! Not those in government, not industry/commerce, not the journos who concoct the stories. If it doesn't happen, they blame it on something outside their control. If it exceeded, they claim all the credit.

For a vast number of people, all they have to do is tell the press and broadcasters exactly what people should do. Something like add 9 weeks. Print a calendar to look up new dates. OK - those in care homes might be less able to find out - but if the care home cares, no problem.

Can't we just banish Covid-19 from the kingdom? Isn't that what sovereignty means!
