Warranty is good only in shop where you buy the bike

What I find odd about this bloke is that he turned up here full of himself and his new bike, then began telling everyone else that they were idiots, and then started throwing abuse around. But at the same time he’s whining about being bullied himself when the only one being arrogant and rude and...

Warranty is good only in shop where you buy the bike

BionX is it? Yes those have been sold off cheap for a while on the bikes which used it. Trek had it for a while but gave up on it a couple of years ago. Last time I looked there were still some 2012 models being offered by Evans Cycles at about a third of the list price. You would have to...

    confusing claims

Basically all these mileage claims from almost all the dealers are complete bol*ocks. You can go as far as you can pedal if you turn the motor off and in Eco on my Kalkhoff it isn’t that far from being off anyway.

Warranty is good only in shop where you buy the bike

Yep. Mercedes seem to have cocked this up royally. Selling bikes with 200W motors, small batteries, and with what seems like old technology is not very Smart.

    Slow pedal assist:

Any reasonable cycle computer, wired or wireless will do. I have a Cateye Velo 7 on one of my bikes and they are good and accurate. About £15 from Amazon and may be cheaper elsewhere.

    Hi all!

Hello Ron and welcome to the forum. I’ve got an Agutta too and like it a lot. I live in hilly west Wales where it's pis*ing down and has been for the last five days. Blowing force 8 too now so not good biking weather.

Warranty is good only in shop where you buy the bike

There he goes again... This guy has ‘issues’ in the jargon of those over the pond. I’ve seen some strange people turn up on forums in my time but this bloke takes the cake.

Looking to buy Specialised Turbo. Can i have it re flashed?

People often say that there have been no prosecutions for using illegal e bikes but the truth is no one really knows that. Most magistrates courts are very badly reported now with the near death of local papers, and unless the person prosecuted is a member of a forum like this one which very few...

Thoughts on two very different bikes please

I had a look at the Momentum in a shop and I thought it looked like a well made and good looking bike. The two speed hub would be no use where I live though so I assume you don’t have too many hills around your way?

Warranty is good only in shop where you buy the bike

Most people here are anything but kids, and quite a few including me I would guess are older than you. I don’t know what your beef with Alan is since he only gave you good advice. When I join a new forum I have a look around first and get a feel for it, then when I post I don’t start by off by...

Warranty is good only in shop where you buy the bike

I didn’t write anything of the sort, you plank. I have no idea what Smart bikes sell or if they are still selling 200W bikes here because they don’t know the law. I’m just telling you what the law is. But if they are so incompetent that they think it’s illegal to sell 250W bikes here they...

Warranty is good only in shop where you buy the bike

You could search here there was a thread running when the UK government officially ratified the EU treaty in April. Which they were supposed to do over ten years ago when the EU law changed but didn’t get around to. A google search will also show the changes, and I think the GovUK sites have...

Warranty is good only in shop where you buy the bike

No it isn’t it’s 250W here officially as of last April. It was 250W unofficially for years because everyone turned a blind eye to the UK law, and the police were told not to prosecute by the DTI.

Warranty is good only in shop where you buy the bike

They were selling 200W versions in the UK recently? No major company has done that for years. Since the UK law was effectively ignored by everyone including the police until it was brought into line officially with EU law this spring,

Unlocking the speed of Haibike Xduro 2015

I may be wrong but I don’t think the later Bosch systems will be fooled with the magnet trick.

    BikeBiz story about eBikes.

It’s only a big deal for the makers and users of legal eMBs which is what this thread is all about. As usual many people half read these threads and jump in thinking that it’s about all pedelec derestriction. I say that derestricting is a minority pursuit, and that most ebike users are fairly...

    BikeBiz story about eBikes.

Since I think everyone would agree that dongles are fitted to a fairly small minority of bikes that could have them then I would say it’s a minority interest really. Someone could put up an anonymous survey to see how many here have them. It wouldn’t be very representative of pedelec riders as...

    BikeBiz story about eBikes.

That has been covered here many times, including from memory further up this thread. They are not legal, and it is illegal to test ride them on the road, and it probably exposes the dealer to legal action if he lets someone test ride it on the road. But it is not illegal to sell it. It’s only...

    BikeBiz story about eBikes.

Doesn’t meet the requirements of a vociferous minority of customers. Most users are content with the speed limits and the compromises which had to be made to allow us to ride pedelecs free of regulation anywhere an unpowered bicycle can be ridden.
