    Smart ebike out of production?

Sobered up this morning? Or maybe it wasn't the booze talking but you always post stone cold sober? In vino veritas anyway, so not much real difference.

    vintage electric bicycle.

Of course it it had been a £6 one his head would probably have been in three pieces. Good ones are designed to break to save your head from breaking. i don’t know if they have got a lot better but back in my last motorcycling days around twenty five years ago the best helmets could only take a...

    Smart ebike out of production?

It’s not your thread. You don’t own it, and you wouldn’t even if you had started it which you didn’t. But I expect your massive sense of entitlement gives you the illusion that you do own everything in sight. You really are a prize idiot, and I don’t think anyone here wants to read any more of...

Thoughts please on Cube Suv Hybrid Pro 500 27.5 2016

All bike seat heights are adjustable. I’ve never come across one that isn’t.

Thoughts please on Cube Suv Hybrid Pro 500 27.5 2016

I have a Cube Peloton road bike and I am impressed by the build quality and finish. It’s a very nice ride and not that far off my last much more expensive Italian road bike I sold on over ten years ago. A cut above a Carrera.

    Vive la France!

Just like the previous Paris attacks it will probably turn out that the attackers were born there and were French citizens. The perpetrators of the London attacks were British and born here too.

I think he meant the other guy.

You certainly put some work into it. All the sit up and beg bikes in India have those fork bracers/springs that help with heavy loads on bad roads. How does it perform?

Will the end of full speed throttles in January 2016 cause a rush to buy.

Of course it is not like a hand throttle but it is still a throttle. No it won’t give full power by just turning the cranks, and it it did it would be a switch not a throttle. But you can regulate the power by pedalling harder or softer, so it can act as a throttle. To get full power and go...

Will the end of full speed throttles in January 2016 cause a rush to buy.

Walk beside throttles like the walk assist button on my Kalkhoff yes. But as far as I can see the throttles on bikes sold after the turn of the year will be normal throttles but restricted to 4 mph. That is what some traders here have written. So unless you know better I suggest you check with...

Will the end of full speed throttles in January 2016 cause a rush to buy.

I agree, and if you bothered to read up the thread to my post at 145 you would see that I wrote that throttles are useful for less able riders. But that was not the point of this post, which was simply that a TS bike like a Kalkhoff does not need a throttle, and it would be useless on it since...

Will the end of full speed throttles in January 2016 cause a rush to buy.

I have a Kalkhoff and I think a throttle on it would be about as much use as a chocolate dildo. The pedal control is the throttle, and in traffic you just use a lower power setting if you’re afraid of running into the car in front. I can hill start on very steep hills with no problems, and I use...

Will the end of full speed throttles in January 2016 cause a rush to buy.

Some of the Chinese systems on many UK bikes are very slow to kick in and can take half a crank revolution. That makes hill starts and quick getaways across traffic problematical. So throttles are useful with those bikes. My first ebike was like that and those were the only times I used the...

Checking if a used bike has a reasonable battery

It depends on the quality of the cells used and how the battery’s been treated. Wisper will have good cells I expect but has the battery been topped up if left unused? It should be every few months. Garden tool batteries die because they get left in sheds over winter and allowed to discharge...

    Well we've done it :)

He had a disagreement with Col of KTM, but it was nothing very heated. I think he was growing disillusioned with the forum mainly because a few here don’t really like illegal bikes, and some tend to educate new e bikers who show in posts that they don’t know their off road from their elbows.

What kits can be fitted to a road bike.

Keyde make a very light motor and battery which some use for extra assistance on hills with road bikes. Not at all powerful but it doesn’t have to be. http://www.keyde.com/en/Product_center/LED_lighting/

    192mph........hero!

Where I live there are still mobile cameras so you can certainly be caught. Many country roads are unsuitable for higher speeds anyway and like it or not the trend is downwards. The last time I was in Cornwall almost every road as you went further west had a fifty limit. If motorway speeds were...

    192mph........hero!

flecc. That must have come in on the M25 since my time. In Holland I think almost all their motorways are covered by it. The flashing lights thing is slightly odd in that where I live some schools did have that, but then it was taken out. I don’t know if it was ignored and so changed or what...

    192mph........hero!

Complexity and cost. I don’t like a lot of the one size fits all either but that’s the reason. On motorways in some countries they have had proper computer controlled speed limits for a long time. That lets the speed limit be changed and displayed in real time allowing traffic to flow at the...
