    Best Value Electric MTB

battery makers tend to recommend 1.5C for maximum continuous discharge rate, eg 10AH = 15A continuous discharge rate. They are all capable of 3C. Samsung 29E cells are usually recommended if you need 2C continuous discharge rate. Nowadays, Panasonic 3400 cell is gaining in popularity as leading...

    Best Value Electric MTB

I can think of one good reason why most e-bikes have 15A controllers. That's the best compromise for 10AH batteries. A 20A controller usually require 15AH battery and a BPM class motor to match, adding about 2kgs to the weight and about £200-£300 to the cost. The Oxygen MTB has the best...

    Best Value Electric MTB

yes, if the manufacturer says it is.Ask d8veh. Its assisted speed is of course legally limited to 25kmph. All the rider has to do is to keep rotating the cranks to be legal, the rest can be done by the bike, no matter how steep the hill is.

    Best Value Electric MTB

d8veh has pointed this out for years, the wattage on the motor is what the manufacturer puts on the label. For members who don't know much about e-bikes, how good the bike will climb up Park Street, Bristol depends on two factors: the power that the controller lets through and what type of...

may be the bigger battery has won it. The Smartmotion has 15AH battery against the Oxygen 13AH. Still, there are many other factors like weight, paintwork, brakes, suspension, crankset, tyres. At the end, it could well be that the least likely factor (how full the battery was) got the prize.

Changing from from hub to BB

@JC, Woosh were going to take on the XMAX CD kit with TS this summer but it seems they leave it too late for the season, they spent too much time on getting new batteries. Will have to wait until Spring.

    Hybrid Bike Recomendation Needed

It's expertly built but I don't think he's taking a loss and I agree that it's the best bike a £1,000 can buy. It's got higher specs than the top of the range Kudos bikes. Personally, I don't see a point to have a fast bike without suspension.

You can't use your existing brake levers and thumb throttle with the 8-Fun BBS01/02 kits. They don't add much to the cost anyway (about $5).

    Pashley Parabike Conversion

yes, you should, for your peace of mind. the capacity decreases with the charging cycles, the manufacturing date does not affect that. Generally, manufacturing techniques improve over time. This year's cells should be better made than last year.

    Help please need advice

your best bet is the woosh zephyr-B that is folding and has the strong 8-Fun BPM motor to haul load. For battery capacity, get a spare 36V 15AH battery from woosh and ask them to make for you a lead to link the two batteries together. You'll get 25AH. http://wooshbikes.co.uk/?zephyr-b

    Bike for MS Sufferer

I don't think the police would seize a bike belonging to an MS sufferrer for having a permanent throttle rather than a compliant one. If the bike comes from Woosh, it's just a matter of asking them to select the right program to load into the J-LCD.
