Longer Range out of the box

On average, you need 6 to 15WH per mile depending on how hard you pedal. For 400 miles, that's 2400-6000WH, with the current Lithium batteries, the cheapest solution is to use 540WH, each weighs 3kgs with NCR 2900maH, costing about £350 each. So, 5 batteries at 3kgs each, 15kgs total. The bike...

    To Kit Or To Woosh?

that would push the total cost way above your target budget. Your legs will get better, you can reduce assist level on the way home and make the battery last a quarter longer. It's totally achievable.

    eMTB conversion

woosh use a hall sensor attached to the cylinder and a magnetic ring that you tie to the brake handle - that's the theory, I was promised a couple for my bike - they've lost the box of these sensors in the last container so they have no hydraulic brake sensors at the moment.

if you could wait until end of July, Woosh will have the 8-Fun 350W BPM CST in stock for a little bit more than their Big Bear kit.

    Zoom mechanical disc brake question

it's not a problem for John F's santana because he has index shift but I can see you have revoshift and thumb throttle already on the right grip. If it's too crowded there, what if you swap side (hydraulic to the left) in case you have only one hydraulic?

    Can't get a key cut

that's the same lock & keys for the Woosh Sirocco 1, the ebay source you referred to is in China.

    Good value for money?

big part of the problem is volume + distribution system. You get better VFM for higher volume goods bought on the net. Woosh and Ezee sell mainly on the net, so they are cheaper. God knows what people see in BionX.

    Can't get a key cut

I know Woosh have these tumblers - PM hatti, it's similar to the tumbler on their Sirocco 1. They charge about £7 for the lock with 2 keys. You will have to swap the tumbler out, the switch at the base of the lock is different.
