Looking to build my own bike to replace Woosh Sirocco CD.

ash wants a better bike that he can ride hard with - what's wrong with that? usually, you can estimate the demand put on the bike by the average power consumption. If ash empties 540WH on 20 miles, that averages out about 25WH/m against the average 11-12AH/mile. Basically, he rides twice as hard...

Bms battery 36v front wheel with bottle battery installation and review

crimps are 10 times more reliable than soldering, no straddling conductors and the joints don't break. I use a £10 crimping tool, a bit fiddly but OK. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Auto-Marine-Terminal-Crimping-Tool-Suitable-For-No-Insulated-Terminals-/301194397582

Looking to build my own bike to replace Woosh Sirocco CD.

The weight of the battery should really be split 40% to the front, 60% to the rear, same ratio as your weight on the bike. the battery on the back is a rubbish solution, it's like carrying a loaded panier all the time, OK on tarmac roads but useless off roads. The best position for the battery...

    To Kit Or To Woosh?

it depends of course how much you spend on the donor bike. The good thing abbout the BBS01 is it's easiest to learn the ropes. Typically, building from kits can get bogged down by tiny details: 1. if you have a quick release front wheel which is often the case on lots of good bikes, the hole on...

    Handle bar problem

you have now ruled out the crank. is the click as loud as for example cracking an egg or can you give us a comparison with a noise that we can gauge? also, can you confirm that the motor does not produce the click on throttle alone? The sprag clutch is special in crank drive, it is mounted on...

    To Kit Or To Woosh?

build your kit. You'll save some money but also the blast you get to see your own job done the way you want is very addictive, I bet you can't wait to start another project soon afterwards. I would start with an easy kit like the BBS01 on a second hand bike first though.

    To Kit Or To Woosh?

kit. you get the look, the tweak, and cheaper too I am sorry to say, Woosh bikes don't look right on young people.

Looking to build my own bike to replace Woosh Sirocco CD.

The CD is good on tarmac roads, steady ride. what you like doing is a bit of extreme e-biking. The CD is not made for off-roading, its heavy rear rack battery will fly off the bike. Its 14A controller is no good for this. you need the main mass low and in the middle of the bike, that means...

Looking to build my own bike to replace Woosh Sirocco CD.

On flat roads, you don't need much assistance to reach 15mph so the 15mph speed limit programmed into the King Meter is a big annoyance. Woosh and other companies can't do anything about this legal limit. I myself dislike it so I derestrict my bike, I can cycle as fast as my legs can without...

Woosh Sirocco CD vs Cyclotricity Stealth

firstly, you only need 15ah battery if you commute 30+ miles per day or live in a very hilly area (or both), up to 20 miles a day, a 9AH battery may just do it. Secondly, you should start with a really nice donor bike - otherwise, it's no really worth the effort.

Woosh Sirocco CD vs Cyclotricity Stealth

you don't need the 15ah battery, the CD kit (BBS01) works well with a 9AH bottle battery like on my bike, does not climb hills as well as with a bigger battery but there isn't any 15% hills in London

Which kit is best for me?

http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/conversion-kits/front-bpm-kit/ The Big Bear kit may not fit your Carrera's front fork. You need 100mm dropout, either steel fork or strong suspension fork. The kit comes with two torque arms.

Woosh Sirocco CD vs Cyclotricity Stealth

it's the easiest kit to add to any bike, it comes with everything you need, except a battery. Woosh sell it as the CD kit

What has happened to the variety?

yes, flecc but we are moving towards zero maintenance or at least easy maintenance with self diagnostics. More and more bikes come with puncture proof tyres, the LCD does self tests and displays error codes, wiring is practically all plug and play, batteries have smart BMS with USB socket, hub...

What has happened to the variety?

I don't dispute that in general, the market grows and retailers are doing well and there are plenty of new models to empty your wallet every year. I predict that market share of online retailing will grow and shop premises will shrink. I also predict that the volume producers will eventually go...

What has happened to the variety?

I don't think e-bikes buck the trend. The market share of online sales will keep increasing following the trend of shopping on tesco, amazon & ebay. It will remain true that the majority of e-bikers need help with maintenance. Bike mechanics charge around £30 per hour, e-bike specialists charge...

What has happened to the variety?

millions of us can fix our bikes, not our cars so the comparison is not perfect. The bulk of e-bikes for the next few years is still Bosch, favouring http://ebay.de especially after Chistmas - I think the trend for e-bikes follows much of the laptops, TVs and white goods simply because it's...

    Battery Info for PowaCycle Windsor

the mains charger for the bike's battery uses 90W-120W. Don't worry if your inverter only goes up to 150W. If it pulls too much, the AC voltage on the inverter drops, causing the charger to use less power. I think you can use the same inverter. I've got this £10 one that I use on holiday about...
