    Liability....

Actually he's made the point several times that he's not interested in the usual legal versus illegal arguments. He says he's interested in hearing from fellow traders who do sell these bikes and dongles whether they have taken legal advice and if they are happy that they are legally covered...

    Liability....

But isn't there a difference between selling a vehicle capable of exceeding the speed limit but which is legal to use on the road, and selling one which is not legal to use on the road at all however fast it's being ridden at any one time.

    Dangerous and inefficient pedal assist?!?

Actually I confused your post with HMM for a moment. He doesn't want to bother with brake cut outs. I changed it later. Still can't really understand what you meant though....

    Dangerous and inefficient pedal assist?!?

Not sure what you mean about clutch though. I think a lot of people here have had and still have motorcycle experience. I rode bikes for many years and at one time my hobby was restoring old British bikes from the fifties. But they had clutches you could whip in if you needed to, and I've had a...

    Derestricting Sirocco CDL

The thing about crank drive particularly speed sensor ones like the Woosh CDs is that they will take all the battery you throw at them when used hard. That goes double when used in hilly country and/or derestricted. You will use a lot more from the battery if you go fast with it in higher assist...

    Derestricting Sirocco CDL

Yes it's very easy with the King- Meter fitted to that. Press up and down modes at the same time to get into the settings menu and pick a speed there.

Test of pedelec vs road bike for long commute

Don't think the S pedelec is ever going to happen here. To be fair to oldtom the OP did say in his other thread that he wanted to stay legal, and mentioned the higher cut out speed of some German bikes which take full advantage of the leeway in the law.

    Cream - crackered :-)

He's been written out of tour history now though. When they go there the cameras don't pan to his memorial as they used to. Drugs are not popular in modern racing even if a few well known users are still riding...

    Dangerous and inefficient pedal assist?!?

I suppose because most e bike users want to pedal as well. Though a significant number don't and just want an electric moped or even motor bike. I think your bike will be dangerous without brake operated cut outs. Apart from the motor lag there are recent posts here which go into the...

Test of pedelec vs road bike for long commute

When I had a Woosh Sport CD I set the display to 30 kph which cuts out at just over 19 mph, and was much more pleasant than the 25 kph/15.5 mph abrupt cut out. I found it a good compromise without going overboard and also using a lot much power. With that King-Meter it wasn't possible to fine...

    Replacement Chain

Paraffin is a refined oil but not as refined as petrol. So it leaves an oily residue. I always used it on chains and for cleaning car and bike parts. I still do but I use kerosene heating oil now which is much the same stuff but even less refined.

    15mph speed limit

Why not ask the dealer informally by phone if there's a simple settings change in the display menu first? Just as a point of interest to cover him.

Yeah, lots of people are and always were when bikes were a form of mass transport in this country. I always favoured the one foot on a pedal scoot where you weren't allowed to ride when young too. Must say I find it hard to believe that the flying legover does any harm to a frame.

    Holograms for bikes.

Seems like a good idea for commuters is towns. I imagine economies of scale will bring the price down. http://www.theguardian.com/business/2014/aug/24/laserlight-lifesaver-cyclists-emily-brooke

If you can touch the ground easily with a lot of your foot the saddle is too low. So they're right. If you put the heel of your foot on the pedal at its lowest point when you're in the saddle your leg should be just about straight. Having said that they're probably working their knees a lot...
