Kalkhoff Pro Connect Xion X24 for sale

That's classic diamond frame sizing. This bike with the sloping crossbar is MB sizing and your frame would fit a 6' man perfectly. It's a fair bit too big for you BTW.

Kalkhoff Pro Connect Xion X24 for sale

It'll be a 46cm or a 50cm I should think. Might be best to say which since 19" is between. I've got a 50cm Agattu i8 HS and it's actually pretty big for its stated size. I could easily and happily ride a smaller one. I used to ride 53cm road bikes which were small on me. Since almost all bikes...

Why wouldn't I buy from this chap?

Someone should report it. There's a spate of eBay scam listings lately. One of the favourite's is expensive hi fi at cheap prices and being sold from Shetland or the far north of Scotland where it's hard to go and pick it up. When people have messaged them saying that they are there on holiday...

Kalkhoff Pro Connect Xion X24 for sale

I always liked small frames and as said you can get the seatpost out a long way. Just look at the size of the frames that tall men ride on the road in races.

    Replacement Chain

Each to his own. I never had any problems with it on my later road bikes with 9 speed Campag mechs and cassettes. Just a wipe down with a clean cloth before putting it on. It's not so much the stuff on the outside as the lubricant put inside the rollers which can be diluted out and is hard to...

    Kudos Tourer for sale (Nexus)

Most bike shops will give you a box if you ask. I sent an e bike quite cheaply using Citylink booked through Parcelmonkey the other week.

    Look no chain!

I like the idea of belt drive too but the figure above for replacement cost is a bit daunting. Belts must wear and break easier than chains too. When belts mostly replaced chains as cam drives in engines failures became common. Some have to be replaced in only 30,000 miles and failure to do so...

    Torq Carbon F1 Inspired Roadster

I liked the 2cv as well, and it didn't suffer from the Renault 4 vice of blowing its head gasket if it was driven at 60 mph for any length of time. I think it's a shame that car makers have become so prone to gigantism where every new model is bigger and more complex, and has more stuff packed...

    Torq Carbon F1 Inspired Roadster

I didn't realise that engine was the Coventry Climax fire pump engine too. It's well known that the fire pump engine was adapted to become the famous Coventry Climax F2 engine. Later used as an interim F1 engine until the V8s were ready. It won in Monaco and the Nurburgring in 1961 in a Lotus...

Didn't Dr Johnson quip that a second marriage was a triumph of hope over experience.

    Torq Carbon F1 Inspired Roadster

A friend had a Reliant Robin a few years ago and I drove it to see what it was like. It was surprisingly stable really, and although it did understeer as you'd expect, it was so light and stiff that you could throw it around corners pretty fast and it didn't roll that much. Braking was the main...

Woosh Big Bear and Santana CD-L Comparison

The Woosh Sport CD I had was not pleasant to ride unpowered and needed to be on at least three to get any benefit. It was fast on the flat and fine on moderate hills, but struggled with very steep ones. As to CD versus hub I doubt it has any relevance since my Kalkhoff CD pedals very well...

    Replacement Chain

Engine oil contains detergents which will penetrate and remove the manufacturer's lubricant in the chain. That lasts a long time on a new chain so it's best to avoid washing it away.

    Puncture Repair Kits

If your bars have any bent at all then just slack off the bolts and twist the bars up and pinch the bolts up. The bike rests on the handlebar ends and all the stuff on them is off the ground. I always carry some Allen keys and it only takes a moment. With the quick handle bar adjustment on many...

What will be the next major step forward

You do see a lot of e bikes for sale having had very little use, and often having been stored for a couple of years in a shed or garage. Many at very optimistic prices too. So why did the owners give up on them so quickly I wonder? Your later edit seems to cover this...

What will be the next major step forward

Is it mainly because many e bike buyers have too great an expectation of what the bikes can do and think they are going to be whisked around on electric motor bikes? Or is perhaps that people don't feel safe on any kind of bike mixing it with traffic as we do in this country, and many don't want...
