It's already been thought up. It's on the better bikes.

    Discounted old model bikes.

Someone must have bought an old stock e bike a couple of years old? I've bought new two years old normal bikes at a very good discount. But it's the electrics and the battery of an e bike I'd be concerned about here.

Software is a lot quicker than humans too which makes for a nicer ride. It's quite possible to drive a fifties Land Rover in a sporting way if you want and work the box and sling it round corners on tarmac, but it isn't very rewarding.

Well that's why I don't understand why you're saying that the change from 2 down to 1st is the easiest. Because going from a 28 to a 34 rear cog means the mech has to do a lot of work even with no power and that's the slowest change. In fact with this system it's best avoided on a hill at all...

It's pretty easy to change down smoothly with this rather crude system by momentarily killing the power. But up changes are clunky too in full power mode unless you do the same. Quite easy to do really but a pain in the arse nevertheless. A bit like double declutching on an old crash box where...

Not sure what you're writing there. Do you mean you were in a higher gear, that is a taller gear to begin with and then changed down? That is went to a shorter gear, a bigger back sprocket from a smaller one? Because you seem to be describing going up the gears not down. Or are you saying that...

    Discounted old model bikes.

Has anyone bought an old model e bike from a non main dealer I wonder? You do see some 2011/12 models at general bike dealers for very good prices for quality bikes. Some at 60% discount on the new price. What would the drawbacks be? Apart from getting a bike which the main dealers would claim...

I've seen one Kudos bike up close and bought a Woosh and I would put Kudos and Woosh in the same class. Both are Chinese bikes with similar components. Kudos does use slightly better ones on some bikes, and do offer better hub gear options. But those bikes are a lot more money. Kudos is also a...

I wasn't trying to put you off but you did mention the gear issue. Actually if you don't want to ride it in a sporting way, and are happy to leave it in the higher gears and change down in advance when you need to it really isn't much of one. Particularly if you don't live in a hilly area like I...

    Milton Keynes

The first time I went there back in the eighties I found it hard to navigate the place at all. It seemed like an infinite sphere with its centre everywhere and its circumference nowhere. Though actually it was more the other way around as I couldn't find the bloody centre anywhere.

I'm a bit surprised by that. I thought the higher end CD bikes had cunning software which adjusted the power for smooth changes.

    Pro Connect (2008)

I think maybe I would have asked for offers when it was clear that there was a lot of interest. But not kept a running total on the thread. Maybe just told interested punters by PM that someone else was offering more. Glad someone bought it anyway.

I've got a Sport Cd and Woosh build quality is okay but not up to the standard of higher priced bikes as you'd expect. The equipment is down to a price. The gears work fine with a little care, but you have to think ahead and cut the power uphill by stopping peddling for a moment or touching a...

    E-mopeds,e-scooters,legality?

It is a 'grey' area, which the police having looked at a decade or so ago and found unrewarding tend to leave alone. As has been written here before, a user of one of these bikes is likely to ride it without problems unless involved in a police attended accident. Then he might find himself up...

    King Meter Power Down

I did find one online but can't find it now. Google is your friend. It's only got a few functions. Mode for trip or odo. Up and down for assist levels. Press up after 5 max assist and it changes from speedo to average or max speed, and that's it. Hold down up and down together and you get into...

Bottle battery bracket - any cunning plans ?

I use a strip of black velcro on mine to stop it rattling and possibly flying off. It looks quite neat IMO and it's easy to take off and put on.

trex this place you're linking to is in the US. I'm out of touch with bike stuff nowadays so where's the best value place to buy parts online now?

    Hi from Wales!

Hello TK, and welcome. As David Frost used to say before his last career move. Nice bikes. Did you used to hang out at that lean in the town where all the bikers go?
