    Exiting New Things

The picture doesn't show the e-brake (two small wires) levers and throttle (3-pin white plug). The small round thing with a switch at the bottom of the picture is the Low/automatic/High gear selection. Just leave it in the middle and hide it in the controller box then the rest is fitted like...

the Woosh Sirocco CD. Woosh and Kudos use the TCM motor. It's not as refined as the Bosch motor but it's not bad, about same pulling power as the new Bosch (60NM torque). Woosh put crank drive motor on quite a few frames, even folding bikes, Kudos put it on the Ibex and the Eiger (with NuVinci...

    how often to recharge

the best source of information on Lithium batteries is here: http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/do_and_dont_battery_table Every time you put the battery on charge, you lose a small amount on your battery capacity but don't let the battery run completely flat before recharging and don't...

    condition new battery ?

you don't have to do anything special. The best thing for a battery is frequent use. Your battery will reach its best after a 3-4 charging cycles. Don't charge it after just a few miles, best to recharge when battery has less than 30% left.

There are 4 versions: the 36V 15A (250W) has EN15194 certificate, the 36V 25A is made for the American market (350W). The 48V 15A is also 350W, the 48V 25A is 500W version. Going to bite the bullet!

    I had one of the first BBS01s - 36V 15AH, the 350W version (36V 25A) weren't available. If I buy now, I'd go for the 36V 25A.

Bike or kit? I have confused myself!

I'd fit a BPM CST kit with a square bottle battery 36V 15AH Samsung 2900mAH cells to your Scott Aspect - it's not better than KTM e cross p but about same in term of pulling power. Total cost about £550-£600.

    Going to bite the bullet!

you need to buy the rack with the battery because the slider needs to fit the grooves on the battery. Just ask greenbikekit for a rack to go with your selected battery, they are about $30. Don't bother with the 10AH battery, you'd be watching the battery meter more than the road. I have the same...

Could be good with a hub motor

18-speed - isn't it a bit overkill? I wonder if a Gruber motor could drive this marvel.

yes, Lithium batteries are a bit like bananas, they don't sit well on the shelf. They need to be used as soon as. Always check manufacturing date when you buy battery.

    Going to bite the bullet!

The kit is very good. But how are you going to mount the battery? you'll need the mounting kit for your battery - a slider and a box at the saddle end. something like this: Re BMS: always take the high discharge rate option.

Which bike for the heavier rider? Wisper, Oxygen, Woosh, RooDog?

the Torq Mk3 is an excellent bike. It has a lot more pulling power than the Wisper. I've tried both. Both the Torq and the Wisper 905 (about 23kg) feel a bit heavy to me.

    Woosh vs. Juicy

There isn't currently a bike matching the specs of the Big Bear for under £1,200. The nearest are the eZee Torq MK3 (£1,395), Tornado and Arriba. Both the Kudos Tornado and Arriba have BPM motors but only 10.4AH battery. None of the Bosch bikes (including the s-pedelecs) come near the power of...

    Ultracapacitors?

weight is ok, production cost is important. Ultimately, ultra-capacitors and Lithium batteries will merge, ultrcapacitors will be made out of Lithium.

    Ultracapacitors?

ultracapacitors are still very much behind Lithium batteries - about 10% of storage capacity / kg. Eestor seems to walk on water - it has done very little in prototypes, nothing in pre-production run. So far, it has only completed some tests on its dielectric ceramics which may or may not be...
