New £999 Wisper SE bikes are now in the shops

Hi, I agree regarding the rack. It's solid and bolted into the rear stays to take the weight of the battery. It sturdy but completely rattle free.

Failed on my first big hill

I agree Flud, it's so difficult, and TBH I try and keep out as much as possible nowadays. The posted review was sent to me after a conversation in which she told me that her husband could not keep up with her "in the hills", he was riding a Bosch Performance ebike, I would be happy to tell you...

My pleasure Malcolm, I really hope you like the bike, please let me know how you get on. I'll call Liam later this morning. All the best, David

Failed on my first big hill

Absolutely not Flud, this thread was started by the OP to discuss the hill climbing abilities of his Wisper bike. I would never enter a thread and discuss my splendid bikes unless they were the subject of discussion. The reason I used that particular statement from one of my stockists (who also...

    Looking at a wisper 905se

Hi Malcolm, absolutely no bother at all, great to talk to you. It very much depends on the baby carrier. The best thing to do is talk to Liam in Leicester, he will advise you. The new Wisper SE and Torque frames all come with 10 year warranties, however drilling the frame would negate that. I...

Failed on my first big hill

Just before I go.... from one of our stockists... unprompted.... "I have been riding electric bikes for many years but can honestly say the Wisper 705Torque is the most impressive bike I have ever ridden. The way it sailed up the steep Cornish hills on our scenic north Cornwall coast road...

Absolutely 100% spot on! Well said sir, always try before you buy. All the best, David

Failed on my first big hill

Now I remember why I don't come here that often, obviously there are some of us that know absolutely nothing about ebikes, apparently me included! Off home now, the guys have finished prepping another 27 Wispers and 4 Riese and Muller Bosch bikes to go out tomorrow. I think I'll try a CX...

Failed on my first big hill

Thats correct Alan, much like the assistance levels on all electric bikes. The twist variety is more like CVT gearing.

Only in the Fudge mode I'm afraid Shemozzle! Oh.... and in the Talk mode. :)

    Looking at a wisper 905se

Thanks Emo Rider, you must be one of the first to try the new Wisper SE bikes! I am so pleased you liked it, we have spent so much time and effort getting it right. We designed and moulded the forks specifically for this bike to reduce weight and added slightly oversize tyres to compensate for...

    Looking at a wisper 905se

Yes it is Trex, but has not been on sale for a few years so we resurrected the name. All the best, David

Failed on my first big hill

Oh I forgot about throttles.... As long as the pedals are bing turned forwards, the throttle is simply an assistance regulator. If a rider is exerting even 1 gram of pressure on the drive system and the pedals are turning, that is known as assistance not a full throttle. So as long as a rider...

Failed on my first big hill

What and interesting and amusing thread! I have had to back off spending so much time here as I have had to concentrate on the business. Pedelecs is too addictive! It is fun to see so many people discussing why the bike they have chosen is the best, but consider. We (just us at Amps) sell...

Failed on my first big hill

Hi Artstu, to the contrary, it was dreamed up by people who do ride bikes for people who don't. All the best, David :)

Failed on my first big hill

Hi Kevin, H was changed to F on the Mk2 because strictly speaking H is incorrect, and due to the speedy rider graphic it makes it look like High however it can still be misconstrued as Fast! My advice on hills is to keep the bike in the 3 mode and use the throttle to regulate the extra power...

Failed on my first big hill

The mind boggles at some of the requirements riders require. It is very hard for me to comprehend anyone asking for more power on the flat  I agree, however some people do need more help when starting off biking and will find themselves using the F button less and less as they become fitter.
