Failed on my first big hill

I know, it seems strange to people with your kind of fitness levels! However it is a definite requirement and very useful when a new customer starts riding. We believe after a few months they will not need to use it, but it's a useful thing to have if fitness levels aren't great. All the best...

Failed on my first big hill

Hi Kevin, firstly thanks for buying a Wisper, we appreciate the business. Thanks Bob for bringing me into the discussion. A couple of points; was this a 2015 Mk1 bike or the new 2016 Mk2? There is a difference in the torque produced by the motor on each model. On the Mk1 we used a freewheel...

    Wisper 905e Battery!!

Hi Gorvey, do you know how old your bike is? Our batteries will normally last far longer than the two year warranty period. It also may just be the BMS has failed it would be worth sending your battery back to us for testing before you re-cell. All the best David

    Wisper 905 Torque or Alternative?

It's not only me! Amanda from Top Gear, one of the best EBike centres in the UK recently wrote... "I have been riding electric bikes for many years but can honestly say the Wisper 705Torque is the most impressive bike I have ever ridden. The way it sailed up the steep Cornish hills on our...

    Wisper 905 Torque or Alternative?

Hi Kevin, Thanks for your interest in our bikes! Cycling Made Easy are a great stockist and would certainly look after you. They currently have a 2015 Mk 1 905Torque on special offer. I doubt they would be able to sell a 2016 Mk 2 at that price. As Chr4 says, you should try before you buy...

Hi Dave, it was a closed meeting so I don't feel comfortable disclosing everyone's name. However several EBike producers were there along with the MCIA and some big retailers. I appreciate you don't enjoy associations and have had bad experience of them in the past, however we would welcome you...

Thanks Dave, I'll need to change my website! If you click on the various headings under specifications you will find a detailed description of all the components. If you can't find them, no one will! The bike has decent hydraulic brakes, a good cassette, rather than a freewheel, good...

    Trigger's Broom

Hi Yamdude It's the MCIA in particular. They are saying if a throttle is allowed on an EAPC, without the need for a rider to wear a helmet etc etc. They want the same for low powered IC mopeds. As Flecc points out, they have seen a massive decline in scooter sales and regard throttle...

    Trigger's Broom

BEBA, is now a part of the Bicycle Association of Great Britain. As many members of the Forum will know, a small but dedicated team of us have been fighting for the throttle for years. Flecc is, as usual, absolutely on the money, the throttle was never actually stated as legal in the UK, so it...

I agree, the post has gone way off topic. A few of us even trying desperately to sell bikes that are not mentioned? This was a direct request for a comparison between two bikes. Hence the discussion on centre motors vs hub motors, throttles etc. All relevant stuff surely. All the best David

The use of a throttle on a EAPC is not compulsory. The fitting of a throttle simply makes cycling more inclusive.

Currently there is no way Dave, although we are expecting clarification from DfT soon (ish)! At a recent meeting of the Bicycle Association EBike group, after carefully reviewing current legislation, members have decided on a joint way forward. On some members' bikes throttles will be available...
