    Brexit, for once some facts.

That's the official policy. The reality is quite different as with many things concerning this government. Apparently, there are about 300,000 failed asylum seekers in the UK, most are allowed to work. While they wait for a decision on their asylum or resettlement or humanitarian protection...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

We had a deal with France to have our police working in France, we could send illegal migrants back to France, we were doing economically well in 2016 etc then the brexit referendum happened. BJ has managed to create a huge amount of chaos.

7 became 6 then 4 and now, the flight tonight is not going to happen. I suppose it will go ahead in a few months.

the Rwandan project costs £1.4bn a year. The inaugural flight will have 7 migrants on board from 130 originally booked, presumably 123 successfully challenged the government. Some of the 7 may even be brought back to have their day in Court. Is this as good as it gets to stop people crossing the...

I watched the Stargate series ever since it debuted (1994), yes that long ago. In the last series, Stargate Universe (SGU, 2011), their mission was to find the origin of intelligence or where was the Big Bang or God. Ever since, I have been fascinated by Big Bang. Brian Cox, in his last TV...

I am curious about the location of the Big Bang. The JWST project may hint at a possible answer.

that's just inflation. Why would you need that many cores?

I thought the BBC showed some early pictures from the JWST. The rendering is artificial because they are not in the visible spectrum but just for comparison, the images are a lot clearer for obvious reasons. Are you interested in infra red astronomy? deep space stuff?

I am not paranoid but careful. You can overcomplicate things. I have known cases where someone has protected his laptop with bitlocker and the hdd died. The data recovery company admitted defeat because the decryption key is missing from his MS account. I don't think win2003 does the job of...

the backup is a VM, so not much of an overhead in electricity other than the small 3W-5W that my 2.5" Seagate SSHD that I use for backup consumes. The drive is seen by the host PC as offline so unless it is hit by a virus specifically crafted for it, it will be safe. You can configure the VM...

no, there is no need to burn more electricity with duplication. I like MS stuff, it's well organised and efficient. Take the shadow copy service in windows. It's been in use since 2000 and still not many cases of virus attack. Before, it was a chore to back up open files and retrieve previous...

    21700 cells,

21700 cells give the best value for money at the moment. I have started to bring in Panasonic 21700 5000mAH packs, using DP 21700-4C case. They will be on sale from next month.

no, not passwords. I don't care about passwords, Microsoft, google and firefox keep my passwords. For the financial websites MS and Google, you have two factor authentications plus partial passwords system. My SIM is a big issue, I can't lose my SIM. For most websites, you have already systems...

I am not worried about my password being cracked. My main concern is backup. I always keep two copies on two windows servers on two different networks, one of them is a windows 2003 set to never update. They have simple previous versions so capable of resisting ransonware.

you can opt out of a lot of those pesky data collections while using windows but can you opt out of google analytics? the answer is no, the website owners put google code on their web pages. Would you disable Javascript in your browser? Can you opt out of downloaded fonts in your emails? Can you...

    Lightweight stepthrough for motorhome

that is an interesting concept. However, consider this: a typical 18650 3500mAH cell that you find in most good e-bikes holds 12.6WH, enough for about 2 miles on a flat road, weighs only 48g-50g, 1kg for 40 miles. Is it worth cutting down on battery because of their weight?

    Lightweight stepthrough for motorhome

27kgs is heavier than most step through e-bikes. Which bike is it? Dutch step through bike frames are heavier than step over frames because the main curved tube is much thicker to avoid flex. For many e-bikes, the lighter weight is usually achieved with better crankset and wheels and forgoing...
