    fathweel controller change

If it uses a 48v battery one can only assume the controller has a 60v in rush capacitor so it will work ok. The controller looks like a basic possibly speed controller so is why the PAS pick up is not smooth, it will supply the full 16a current all the time. If it is a speed controller each PAS...

    fathweel controller change

The PAS looks like it is incorparated on the end of the LHS of the BB, it appears to be an all in one sensor it is marked SZJOK. Trace the thin Black cable from the controller to double check it leads to that part.

Is the speed reading set for km/h or mph ?

    Help on speed display.

Sometimes the magnet inside the hubs outer cover /lid can become detached if that is so then one will see 0 mph reading.

Try 6 then, if that doesn't work try the four numbers between. Other wise I don't know why it isn't working unless of course the hall sensor in the hub has failed.

The value is the number of speed magnets fitted in the motor, it will either be 1 or 6. I have already mentioned this. All hub bikes have three different types of magnet counts. 1. PAS magnet discs, all these magnets do it sense the delay for the motor to react to pedalling, the more magnets the...

    Help on speed display.

On Page 12 the setting is speed sensor option the value is set to 1. It is not the same as Magnet quantity settings which is how many PAS magnets that are in the magnet disc.

    Help on speed display.

There must be a setting for motor speed magnets not PAS sensor magnets. On my system the setting is also known as wheel speed pulse.

Also is there a P1 type setting that needs a figure set for the motor internal gearing multiplied by the motor winding magnets, if so for a Bafang hub this value is usually around the 84 mark and should be input as so.

Yes the internal sensor is a hall and simply has 1 or 6 magnets on the side plate/cover that it will pick up on, the speed magnet setting for the speed reading needs to be set to either 1 or 6, but I do remember d8veh sometime ago mention that some Bafangs hubs may only use 5 magnets. These...

Fancy a cargo bike but can't afford one or only want a part time cargo bike ?

An extracyle rear end kit is on ebay at the mo for £200, an ideal cheap option to make up a longtail cargo bike for extra carrying duties. Convert practically most bikes with a std rear 9mm drop out, the extrcycle rear uses a 26" wheel. One would need to extend the rear brake and fit a longer...

Stripping a battery to test it

Both of those voltages indicate a problem but one won't know until cell group readings are checked. It might just be an imbalance on a couple, if one had a real duffer cell group the BMS wouldn't allow charging if one fell below 2.8 - 3v. If one had a dead cell or a very bad cell then one...

Can anyone help with a D2 throttle problem?

Yes if one is only seeing 2.7v then a component inside isn't working correctly.

Using UK 13amp plug appliance wire to connect controller to battery?

The only issue with the watt meters is they aren't WP and if one wants to see the screen often needs wiring to be seen, when I used them I simply had one inline in a bag with the battery.

What ebike would be the least effort to ride

The last bike in the world for gspeed to buy and use is a TS pas sensing type bike, they just aren't suitable for those who have lack of strength/stamina issues. Although the bike manoeuvring/weight may be the issue one suspects for a legal route a Wisper step thru bike will be the best option...

Stripping a battery to test it

Two options Scorpio, carefully cut the wrap along it's length. Then reuse it and use tape to hold it together again or buy some new heat shrink wrap sleeve and use a hairdryer to shrink it. If buying wrap measure the two different side/widths of the battery and add them up, then add 25/30% to...

Speed sensor setting should I think be 1 for one motor speed magnet if that doesn't work try 5 or 6.

Using UK 13amp plug appliance wire to connect controller to battery?

Ok so if a a TA is supplied then the axle must have opposing flat faces, one should suffice.
