Gas losses are also significant. The industry claims not much more than 1% but I have seen other informed parties suggest possibly nearer 10%. I do know that we had a gas leak in our old house (actually, under the drive and in the garden). When fixed, there were at least five separate leaks. We...

I did write: Possibly even a good thing if done properly. I didn't define "properly" because I am no energy scientist. It will also depend on the details of the house (or whatever). For example, a ground source (or water source) heat pump installation might make sense even with the issues you...

Perhaps they will? However, it is possible that doing so could undermine any ensuing court cases, if ever there are any.

I think it is genuine at one level. Possibly even a good thing if done properly. But pushing it out ahead of all previous plans, and without being properly managed, smacks of bad government. And typical of scrabbling around for ways of being seen to address one of the issues du jour, regardless...

He has already said he meant cutting their jobs. Not physical attack. But if the confusion is such that several people reported it, it at the least shows lax and poor choice of words. Or it could have been intentionally ambiguous. I still do not expect anything to result from it.

What chance this actually happening? At least in the way the headline appears to say. (Sorry about DM link - I am sure there will be others.) Of course, it is amazing the government seems able to do anything at all given its current attitude, approach and lack of majority. Can't see this as...
