    Review Basis Beacon 2019 Review

I just looked at the photos in your OP, and I can see that the nuts that hold the motor on aren't right. There seems to be some unnecessary spacers/washers on the inside of it the nearside nut, that is pushing the nut so far outboard, that it's hardly on the thread. You should have a look at it...

    Protection from Bad Weather

It depends on the design of the car/van. I wouldn't want to put an electric bike on one of those racks and take it out in the pouring rain. If you cover the bikes, you can get enormous wind resistance, which not only brings the danger of something getting bent, but also knocks your fuel...

Traditional ebike vs (legal) moped/scooter ebike

All I know is that scooters are very dodgy on slippery roads. I fell off a Vespa 90 in the same spot, where there was black ice on three consecutive nights. On the first night I knew it was slippery, so I was being careful, but the scooter went down before I could do anything. The next night, I...

Suntour HESC Rear Hub Motor rotating on axle?

One torque arm should be enough for your motor. The tab-washers do nothing if they don't fit on a flat part of the axle, so I'm not sure what your saying is right. Anyway, assuming that the. I'm still missing something. If you do up the nuts tight, the friction alone should be enough to hold...

Carrera crosscity E power on issue

TransX is similar to Bosch, Kalkhoff, etc, that use comms between the controller and BMS. The procedure was probably to reboot the comms system. You don't have that on most Chineses batteries.

I can't argue with that; however, your missing a point: We advise people what to do and how to do it. I wouldn't advise anybody to do anything that I don't have confidence that it would work without problems. What this thread is about, like many before it, is that somebody gives a practical...

    Cheap spot welders

I have two reservations about them. Firstly, I can't see how to replace the electrodes. Electrodes wear quite quickly and you don't want the thin part too long, otherwise they get hot. If you can find one that definitely has replaceable electrodes, that would solve it. The other thing is that...

Carrera crosscity E power on issue

The Kalkhoff batteries and some other similar ones have to be run through a complete charge cycle to calibrate the meter - nothing to do with the main functions of the BMS. Some laptop batteries have BMSs that switch off permanently if they detect certain conditions, including the maximum...

I think you've got your code numbers mixed up. The code number is the number of turns in each coil, so the lower the number, the faster it goes. A code 16 at 36v will barely reach 15 mph, and a code 10 at 48v will do 420 rpm, which is over 30 mph. That's for a 26" wheel. Good point, but the...

Carrera crosscity E power on issue

Have you got a link to the video? I've never seen or heard of that sort of thing on normal Chinese batteries, and I've dealt with hundreds. even the smart BMSs don't have a feature like that. I'd like to see what he had.

You didn't need to send them an email. You know all about it. Why didn't you just ask your colleagues when you see them if you have any questions. Guys, don't be dishonest. That's three of you now. When you're dishonest, it casts aspersions on your company and products. I know it's hard when...

When the panel flashes on once, it's because there is no battery connection. what you're seeing is the capacitor discharging that's across the battery wires. It behaves like a tiny battery that can only last for a split second. You need to find out where the battery voltage is being...

Salisbury Powacycle- Removal and inspection of motor.

Don't take the motor off or dismantle it until you've confirmed that the halls are faulty. You can test them at the controller. With everything connected and switched on, measure between the red and black hall wires on the white block connector to check that you have 5v. After that check...

    introducing the Woosh Grand Camino

It looks pretty good to me. I'll probably be recommending it. Personally, I prefer 48v, but there's nothing wrong with 36v. I have one comment for the next batch: The gearing looks a bit low for such a powerful system. What size is the chainwheel. I'd want 44T as a minimum.

That's all good then. It must be the display panel. They get water in them sometimes, which can make a mess. Disconnect the control panel and bridge the red and blue wires. That should give you level one assist without the panel.

Volt Axis very good with a little bad.............

Thanks for taking the time to review it. We've not had that one before, so it's bound to be useful for someone. If you can, let us know after say 200, 500, 1000 miles etc because long term reviews give a much better picture and we get very few of them. Regarding the wires, get about 12" of...
