    battery problem

That's what I was thinking. Take the cells out, recover them, then use them in power banks. You can buy the empty cases on Ebay for next to nothing. Give them to your friends for Xmas: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=power+bank+case&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_sop=15&_pgn=9&rt=nc

    Broken throttle

£4.70. Cut the connector off your present one and join the wires to the new one. All throttles work the same with three wires. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EBike-Electric-Bicycle-Thumb-Throttle-FT-21X-Finger-Throttle-Accelerator-T6B6/174321138722?hash=item2896597c22:g:IoAAAOSw5FVe64fW £7.42 here...

    battery problem

If it were a 15Ah battery, it would be worth looking at, but at 6AH when new, I would say it's not worth recovering. If in perfect nick, it would give a range of about 12 miles. In a compromised and saggy state after recovering, that's going to go right down to a pretty useless level.

    battery problem

It was only 6Ah anyway, so pretty useless. That's about 12 miles range. If you give our man Jimmy a call or message at www.ebikebatteries.co.uk, he should be able to re-cell it with much higher capacity. It's a 40-cell case, so he should be able to go as high as 7x5, which cold be as high as...

How to non-destructively DISABLE the throttle on a Fiido D2S?

Yup, unplugging it normally works pretty well.

You can use any throttle. Show us a picture of what you have.

    Options?

It doesn't matter where you put the solder. You can put it in the middle if easier. The shunt is a resistor, and it's resistance is in direct proportion to its length. Solder has almost no resistance, so the idea is to make some of the length of the shunt no resistance to reduce its overall...

Why so few hub geared bikes with belts ? Looking at Kalkhoff

It seems to me a very weird thing to do to fit a dynamo to an electric bike. People think that the dynamo makes electricity for nothing. On an electric bike, the dynamo is taking power for the lights from the battery with an efficiency loss, so you might as well save your money and take the...

    Bafang upgrade?

That's a code 10, which is quite fast. It equates to 315 rpm at 36v, which is 23 mph in a 26" wheel. Can you confirm which size wheel its in and show a photo of the whole motor from both sides?

Help! Want to buy an ebike? Which one.

Just about any ebike with a 36v battery of 10AH capacity or more will do the job. All ebikes work and are fun to ride. I bought my first ebike 10 years ago. It was very cheap and rudimentary by today's standards, but if it were the only ebike in the world, I'd still be happy to ride it today...

Sorry if I hurt your feelings, but I can't change facts, nor can I change the way your controller works.

Thanks for letting us know. before you go, can you confirm that the other three wires are one for each of the LEDs? We need that info to sort out Blueboymax.

    Bafang upgrade?

You don't normally need to change motors to get more power. The 250w label is just for legal compliance. the same motor is probably sold in other places as 200w or 500w. They can handle a significant amount of power above 250w. I've run then as high as 1200w without problems, though a bit of...

    Ebike questions

Be very careful with modifications. Do all your research first on everything about how that Bionx system works, especially the communication between the modules. If you make a mistake, the chance of sorting it is very slim. I'm not saying don't do it, just make sure of what you're doing.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

General Flynn posted today, Digital Soldiers are on the move (get ready!) Anybody want to speculate what that means? BTW, Katie Hopkins now has 90,000 followers after three days on Parler, like I said would happen.

    Replacement parts

I measure things like that with a piece of card. Cut a square slot in the edge to use as a gauge. At first make it too small, then snip a bit off one side a bit at a time until its a sliding fit over the seat-pin, steerer tube or whatever, then measure with a ruler. You don't need to be too...

    Model Identification

Before anything, see if you can scratch an X on one upper face and a + on the other, then add another mark in the top right corner so that you can put the magnet in exactly the same orientation, but in the other position. It's just a matter of prising them out and pressing back in. If they end...

Hope that someone can suggest what I can do ....

That rules out the battery as the cause. The most common causes of that sort of fault are brake switches, which you can eliminate by disconnecting them to test, or motor connectors. You have to follow the wire from the motor all the way into the controller and check that every connection is sound.
