    Charging batteries question.

They will likely have a BMS though as they have 4 cells each charging in series and will be monitored, it isn't a good idea to charge in series. If one battery charges before the other then a bms will shut off charging. One can join and discharge in parallel and in series they may be ok...

    Charging batteries question.

There not true lithium but lifepo4 /li-iron phosphate /LFP they will last for ever, Cycling them correctly and they will outlast lion/lipo by 4X. They have a very narrow charge/ discharge voltage of 3.2v - 3.65v. If they don't have a BMS, you can charge in series using a lifepo4 24v charger...

Rear hub or front wheel hub? Help!!

Geared motor hubs as such don't have gears that change, what they do have is nylon gears attached to a clutch mechanism that allows freewheeling and unpowered riding . The nylon gears depending on size /teeth give a certain ratio which makes unpowered riding easier. The Xiongda two speed hub...

Rear hub or front wheel hub? Help!!

Depends on the controller current rating !!! If it is a DD hub one probably think you will soon be back asking what's wrong with it once fitted.

    Charging batteries question.

Do the 12 v Li batteries each have a BMS ? You can't risk charging li in series as any cell will exceed the top voltage, you could though charge in parallel as 12v if no BMS is used. For li the batteries need to be singular for charging and not connected up in series as acting as one. Chemistry...

Rear hub or front wheel hub? Help!!

Yes and maybe if the controller has a throttle outlet. Any throttle will need 3 wire connection if one can be added.

    705 T Wisper Battery

Batteries stored in cold doesn't cause much harm as long as the voltage is at or near nominal voltage, it is only charging them when they or the temps are cold that will reduce the capacity being fully excepted. Charger wise any generic one of the correct voltage supply and with correct charge...

Rear hub or front wheel hub? Help!!

Voilamart cheap and nasty and basic 3 speed controller, most are D/D hubs though they do sell a 250w geared front hub. You get what you pay for.

    Help! Melted Motor Wires

As said it's not uncommon for them to melt, I have had it before. MT60 are 60a capable so should pose no issue, I use them. When soldering them make sure the shroud is slid up the wiring first and then when soldering the opposite half make sure the wires are orientated correctly as the they...

Help! Mezzo 16 inch folding bike conversion and LCD Display(s) that work with S06S Controller

Any KT branded one, the S06S is a KT. So LCD1 - LCD10. BMS Battery call the KT stuff S series but have added a B series, it appears they aren't compatible with each other. LCD3 is a favourite because it is easy to set , like wise the LCD4 is similar but very compact. The BO9P is 22A and 48v...

Di Blasi Folding Trike throttle option?

Some can plug in to the display otherwise one is looking for a spare often 3 wire connector.

Di Blasi Folding Trike throttle option?

If the metal box /controller has a wired outlet for one then yes, if not no. The controller pcb has to have the software and programming for one, it is not something one can add.

    Comfort V Weight penalty

A fit good rider shouldn't need a heavy larger battery, all part of the idea of a lighter bike.

Please take me back to school battery electrics

One reason why I gave up on mid drive, although I use low gearing I just don't have a high cadence. I have the stamina but not the power to continually shift high rpm. Hubs are so more forgiving though I gearing still needs to be used.

Bnineteeneam 48v 250w 26” front wheel conversion kit

For 20a continuous battery find out the cells used and how many in parallel, depending on the cells one might be ok with a 20a controller other wise one should be looking at 15 or 17a, though with KT one can reduce the current draw.

    Comfort V Weight penalty

My gravel bike is my dry weather bike and I mount as little as I can on it to keep light. Even the e kit is only 2.2kg and the bike has no suspension barring the 42c TL wheel set and the rider who anticipates the road surface and uses his weight accordingly. As denoted this is a gravel bike so...

Can anyone recommend a good ebike repair and battery construction book(s)?

Ron aka spinningmagnets is a founder member of ES I believe (could be wrong) he has a large presence on there at times and a regular contributor. The cell cycle aging thread is not very old, an independent resource of info you won't find any where else.
