    Brexit, for once some facts.

I have over the months posted here several times about a certain medicine (liothyronine) which is often not available on the NHS despite being of the utmost importance. Not surprisingly, those who are currently managing to buy liothyronine from Germany (or other EU countries), typically with...

Up to the point of leaving, they might do many things. Afterwards, I'd not count on anything - simply because I don't think we can foretell. Certainly not from where we are at the moment.

That is the real and deep issue. If we could leave, see what happens, go "Oh dear, not so good" and re-join on the same old terms, then it would be nothing like as big an issue. We can't.

A second referendum is possible if parliament decides we should have one. Certainly one of the likely pressures which could force their hand is such a no-deal that they do not agree with but I find it difficult to believe that is the only possibility.

By name, a lot of my Scottish inheritance is Campbell. (Only once ever having met any of that side, am not exactly familiar with them. Is that the gay branch of the Bells?)

Perhaps not quite as different as initially appears! A combination of family history and a DNA test strongly indicates that my background is over 50% from Ireland. For example, great-grandmother appears to have left around potato famine time. And I have pretty much no Welsh background. Much...

In my view, oldgroaner very much isn't conducting a witch hunt against the UK. (It would probably be rather perverse to do so for almost anyone living in the UK.) He is arguing against what is being done to the UK.

    My first ebike......

Raises interesting questions about flying with aeronautical batteries. (That is, batteries used to power aircraft.) If they are not safe to fly with as baggage, are they safe to fly with when powering the whole damn thing? :)

    Brexit, for once some facts.

From childhood, I could never understand why Ireland was split. Over the years I came to understand there are reasons but as the UK becomes less and less significant as a country, and as the republic looks to those outside less and less like a dependency of the Vatican, I had hoped that these...

    Car Jump starter

If that was a response to me, yes, would have got a new battery except the car is already agreed for a trade-in. Just waiting for news! (About the only thing to go at all wrong with the car has been batteries. First one went from OK to pancake overnight. Second and third did the same. Now...

    Car Jump starter

Might not work for you, but our second car tends to suffer from a flat battery after almost no time, and we use one of the Lidl trickle chargers. Leave it on much of the time except when the car is actually in use. Works a treat.

    Air Conditioning

Agree that ceiling fans can be excellent. We have one room with a significantly higher ceiling than the rest - the fan works wonderfully in there. It is high enough to not intrude and the air movement seems better than in ordinary height rooms.
