    Yosepower hub kits.

You're worrying about nothing. The extra weight won't have any affect on them whatsoever unless it's a front motor that'll upset the handling a bit, but won't do any harm to anything.

BBSHD Nylon Gear changed, Battery fooked

It could be a leaking MOSFET in the controller. You'd have to put an ammeter or wattmeter on the battery wires to see if current is flowing when the motor is switched off.

    Whoosh Crank-Drive Tongsheng Kit review.

The torque sensor offers very little for a hybrid type bike. It might even bring more disadvantages than advantages. I wouldn't say that it should be the main deciding factor. I'd be looking at things like ease of installation and reliability along with the important performance characteristics...

    Help! Torque Sensor mod?

Don't need brake sensors. Pedal sensor goes on left side Cabling comes with the LCD and controller. You keep the Suntour connector and solder the controller end of the motor cable to the new controller.

    Help! Torque Sensor mod?

You have to replace the controller and LCD, then do some basic wiring and solder some wires. Cost is about £70 if you want a nice control system or as low as £40 for an average control system.

Bike for overweight, nervy rider wanting to do long railway paths but not that fit

A short test around a car park or along a flat road is not enough to get a fair impression of the differences. You need to do 20 miles of varied terrain before the differences show themselves in a significant way. It's very easy to get a false impression from a short ride.

Front hub 48v motor for very hilly area

Is it a sensorless controller? If so, that's to detect the motor position for timing because you don't have hall sensors. It takes a back emf pulse from the phase wires and converts it to a 5v pulse which it sends back to the controller's hall wire connection points so that they can use the same...

E-bike Error 10 on the screen

Error 10 means the controller can't communicate with the LCD, so you must gave damaged one of the wires inside the cable, or you wiped out the controller or LCD when some wires shorted. Check that no pins in the connector got bent.

Front hub 48v motor for very hilly area

If it's a separate PCB, it's probably a DC/DC converter. If not that, it must be a decent MOSFET to switch higher pose lights. What voltage do you get on the connector? What controller is it?

Front hub 48v motor for very hilly area

The backlight comes on, but there's no transistor on the controller's pcb to switch on lights. I've seen that working in many Lishui controllers, but never a KT. Some non-KT LCDs have the transistor on their PCB and a separate connector, so you have a 5-pin and 2-pin connector attached to the...

Front hub 48v motor for very hilly area

I've never seen a KT controller that can switch lights. You have to use your own switch.

    Cowboy ebike Guardian review

It's the same market as the Gtech. Why oh why didn't Gtech have a geared variant and a double-sized battery option? This cowboy at least has a bigger battery than the Gtech plus hydraulic brakes, but without gears, I'd be surprised if you could ride it far enough to deplete the battery.

Question about speed restriction on Dillenger Kit

They're wrong when they say that the motor is working outside of its parameters unless they mean for legality. The faster a motor goes, the less current it'll take, the less torque it will produce, the less heat it will make and the less stress there will be on it.

    Bafang CST suppliers

I rode one of my 2WDs in deep snow with a throttle giving equal power to both motors. It managed steep hills without any problems. The front wheel frequently lost traction and the rear one too, though not as much, but the gyroscopic affect of the spinning front wheel keeps the bike stable, so...

Hailong battery help, possible controller fault?

The controller cannot influence the charging of the battery. When you have charging problems, a simple test procedure will point you at where the problem lies. First, you measure the voltage on the charger jack, then you measure the voltage on the battery's charge socket. It's a bit tricky to...

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

No, it's legal to use any motor rared at 250w or below. The EN15194 standard calls up a standard for a test procedure to verify the rating, but the test is designed to control over-rating the motor. It would be illegal to sell a bike with a motor that was rated at 250w and the motor overheated...

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

If you you look in the standard and the associated tests, you'll see that it's actually the minimum power, not the maximum. The motor has to be able to run at 250w output power without overheating. If it can run at 1000w without overheating, it's still a pass. The only requirement is that the...
