the wheel won't stop spinning when ignition cable is connected

You have to give more details of the battery. Can you show us the listing from where you bought it?

Fitting PAS sensor to Claris Double - help please

Unfortunately, you haven't made it clear which way round you measured, though the measurements definitely show that the wires are wrong. What you should do is put your black probe on the battery ground anywhere, which is on any black wire except the one you're measuring, then put your red probe...

Fitting PAS sensor to Claris Double - help please

As you have access to the sensor PCB, you can unsolder the wires and resolder in the right places. Once desoldered, you can check them with a meter to see which is which. That'll keep the wiring and connectors nice and neat. Actually, you don't need the connectors. They're only there to make...

the wheel won't stop spinning when ignition cable is connected

Something I just noticed. That controller says 38 amps on the label, and you say that you have a 36v 15Ah battery. Are you sure your battery can supply 38 amps. I would have thought that around 25 amps would be the best you can expect. That's if it's a good one! A normal one would be around 20...

the wheel won't stop spinning when ignition cable is connected

It's the self-learning procedure that makes the motor spin. It'll do that with or without the throttle connected, so it doesn't mean that your throttle works. Start by disconnecting everything from the controller except the motor, battery and any control panel if you have one. Check that the...

the wheel won't stop spinning when ignition cable is connected

Most likely, that's the self-learning procedure that the controller will do every time you switch on with the two green wires connected. You should disconnect them.

Climate change solved by ebike batteries with massive range

I think it's going to be solved by a disaster, like Yellowstone Park erupting, an asteroid strike, bird flu or ebola mutation.

    ElectroPed Leader - Newbie

I guess it has a brushed motor (two wires). If so, you can connect a 12V battery or car battery charger directly to those two wires to test that the motor works. If the motor cable has three or more wires in it, that won't work. Test it with the wheel off the ground.

Fitting PAS sensor to Claris Double - help please

You have to cut one of the cables, then solder the three wires in the correct sequence. You can tell which is which by the colours. You need to tell us the colors to say which is which. On the controller side, you measure with a meter which pin is the 5v. You can confirm which pin is ground by...

You started it, which is why I made that opening statement, but I don't pull you up through vindictiveness. Some of what you write is misleading and can make more trouble for these guys that are trying to sort problems instead of solving their problems. two things: Firstly, It's very dodgy...

Bafang BBS01B 36v 350w mid drive run on 48v battery

Even if it didn't blow the controller, it would spin the crank too fast for your pedal speed, so it would be uncomfortable unless you used only the throttle with no pedalling, and it wouldn't be efficient in your normal pedal speed range, which I guess is why the controllers blow. If you want...

Climate change solved by ebike batteries with massive range

Don't spoil it. I'd already planned my camping holiday touring Scotland. I was going to take just one spare battery and not bother with the charger for the 1400 mile trip.

Why has the Nexus 8 speed hub gear not caught on?

That was very interesting reading. One thing not obvious. It shows that you get a slight increase in your pedalling efficiency when you use a crank-drive bike compared with a hub-motor because of the additional chain tension. That was also implied from the research that I linked to above. I can...

Why has the Nexus 8 speed hub gear not caught on?

I think that I can say that you're categorically wrong because we can't all know that if I don't/didn't. Have you got any evidence to support that? Who else knows about it? How far off centre gives how much reduction in efficiency? Does it only affect the modern 12-speeds, or would it happen on...

Here we go again. For someone who boasts how much he knows about electrical systems and tells those of us that have been working with these things for decades don't know what we're talking about, you get an awful lot completely wrong. Of course if you had ever actually checked a motor yourself...

Climate change solved by ebike batteries with massive range

All that CO2 can now be sucked up and put into ebike batteries that have 7 times the range of our present ones. Life gets better and better. Greta Thunberg can now go back to school. https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/first-rechargeable-carbon-dioxide-battery/
