    Brexit, for once some facts.

That's your perception, and a very distorted one it is. Socialism requires some degree of equalisation of income, wealth and opportunity to ensure a fairer society in which all have a chance to enjoy a good life. That is neither theft or deception since it protects those who give more...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

You really are utterly confused about the differences between Socialism and Communism. True Socialism can only exist under the control of a democracy. Examples have been and still are within Europe, Clement Attlee's post WW2 government was one here. True Communism can only exist under the...

    Delfast "ebike"?

It depends whether the lights etc conform to the regulations. For example the rear and stop light combined are under the saddle and may not include a number plate light. Even if it does the plate will be below and masked by the raised rear mudguard so not legally clearly visible from the rear...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Agreed, but it wasn't Labour, it was Blair with his pseudo Tory non-socialist New Labour who invented PFI. A true socialist Labour government under Corby never would. .

    Delfast "ebike"?

The Delfast e-bike falls under the L1e-B moped category so would have to be registered and insured as one. Snag is that as it's supplied it doesn't look like it conforms to all the regulations. As Soundwave says, potentially too many problems for it to be good buy. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

It takes some beating, but maybe Christmas 1940 and 1941 when so much was looking grim for us as we were losing the war. .

How to hide/camouflage the 750w on the motor?

If you are inquiring about the OP's Rad Rhino e-bike, both the 250 watt and 750 watt models are restricted to 15.5 mph. The 750 watt just has the power advantage for hill climbing etc. .

    Hi folks

Welcome to the forum, hopefully it won't be too long before some warmer and dryer weather returns. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I remember that era and before very well. In the 1950s and early '60s drink and driving scarcely got a mention, it wasn't considered a problem. Of course there weren't many cars back then. Each Saturday I'd drive up to the West End for the evening and park my car in Piccadilly Circus by the...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I agree that some are over reacting in defence of rights to an totally unnecessary degree. We've seen that in many areas now and I've acknowledged that in the area of womens rights where there has been huge over compensation that still continues in some of the media areas. I'm hopeful though...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Brexit is about everything in our lives and vfr400 is entitled to his view. He was right that Brexit and the issues he raised are the same thing, but that same thing is the issue of tolerance versus intolerance. It's whether we continue with the old ways of intolerance and consequent warfare...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I really don't think it's sinister, it's showing existing alternatives in the lives of children rather than hiding them away as they used to be so they won't think of them as not being a valid part of life. It really was indefensible that homosexuals for example were sent to prison, chemically...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I understand where you are coming from and there are some truths in what you say. However, your view is somewhat restricted and missing some truths, perhaps quite common where you live but far from universal in this country. First "family values". In a country where nearly a third of all...

Help! Main roads or side roads?

Weird is certainly best. The best I ever experience is when pulling my large trailer with a high load as below, completely hiding me and the bike. It's quite funny seeing drivers nervously passing, leaving a full car width clearance and peering to see what this vehicle is:

    Brexit, for once some facts.

There's always been a disproportionately high number of gays in the arts, but in earlier discriminatory times they mainly kept a rather lower profile. Now with legalisation and more open acceptance, I think there may sometimes be over compensation to redress the past, both by gays and those...

    Batavus Lento

Nullified by the mechanical advantage of the high powered 20" wheel, my high mounted rearward carrier for the deep pannier bags and even heavy towing with trailer nose weight well behind the rear wheel. And all this in the hilly North Downs. And so have I for many more years. It will only...

    Batavus Lento

Not in the intended use it won't, you always seem to have the UK cycling blinkers on. On my bike with a 20" hub motor wheel and similarly rearward carrier and huge Dutch panniers which I heavily load, of course I can make it wheelie, even flip, but I don't since it's not necessary, not even up...

    Batavus Lento

As utility cyclists the Dutch and some others often use large, deep panniers and this carrier is very sensible for them, since the heels won't foul the panniers when pedalling. The low, forward mounted carriers on many of our UK bikes are completely useless in this respect. To try to cope with...
