Could eddy currents be causing this riding through treacle effect

Even if the motor were jammed solid, you'd still be able to pedal the bike normally without resistance.

Torque sensors and where to buy ?

Torque sensors on hub-motors offer very little advantage. In fact some are terrible. If you want a hub-motor a normal cadence sensor and a Kunteng controller will give you a nice riding experience. There are a lot of drawbacks and potential risks when installing a front hub-motor. A rear one...

Decisions! Cheaper kit or the not so cheap kit for my requirements?

If you want to be pedantic, you need to allow for voltage sag, and who runs their battery all the way down to 31V?

Kit that works with display removed or switched off?

The problem is that you have a fancy pedal sensor, and without the LCD, you can't choose the appropriate setting for it.

Help! Pedal assist doesn’t work anymore on TODO Mountain Rider E-Bike, please help

It all looks OK to me, so that leaves two possibilities that I can think of. Either the magnet disc isn't turning with the pedals or the sensor is faulty. To test the sensor, you need a voltmeter. There are three wires, normally black red and another (signal). When everything is connected and...

    Ezee Sprint, Motor controller access.

IIRC, I used a cross-head bit with a 1/4" drive ratchet arm from my socket set. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/46Pc-Professional-1-4-Screwdriver-Socket-Set-Ratchet-Bit-Torx-Hex-Screw-Drive/312249226230?epid=25004727939&hash=item48b38113f6:g:tOUAAOSw85Jbq4xn

    Battery capacity running down

53.8V is a little low if measured straight off the charger. If you left it for a while before measuring 53.6V could be normal. It depends now whether you have one or two cells down and the rest at 4.2V or all 13 at 4.14V.

Kit that works with display removed or switched off?

Did the pedal sensor come with your controller or did you buy it separately?

Decisions! Cheaper kit or the not so cheap kit for my requirements?

A 36v 201 rpm motor will do exactly 15 mph in a 26" wheel at 36v without load. You can use that as a basis to calculate any motor's speed. A 400 rpm motor will spin up to 400/201 x 20/26 x 15 mph. You will get good assistance up to about 85% of that speed, then the power ramps down to zero at...

Supply and fit front wheel edrive conversion to Dahon 20 inch folders?

You cab buy ready-made bikes as cheap as a kit, and you don't need to pay anyone to install the kit. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/E-BIKE-NEW-FOLDING-ELECTRIC-BIKE-ADULT-E-BIKE/183787947022?hash=item2aca9d840e:g:vewAAOSweTlcqyaf They have a whole load of similar bikes on Idealworld.tv and QVC on...

Wispa Bike will no longer power up

If you measured correctly, you have two problems, but it's encouraging that the voltage didn't drop when you switched on. The next test will determine what is wrong.

It's still not all the way to the line. You can blow your controller like that. Does your throttle work?

Wispa Bike will no longer power up

That means that the control panel is faulty. Can you show a photo of the control panel connector so that I can guide you how to make sure that the rest of the electrical systems are OK with one more simple test? I need to see the colour of the wires. You're doing very well, and you're very...

    Interesting Bosch Motor Information

This guy came to fame about 6 or seven years ago when he reverse engineered a KU63 controller so that he could adjust it for his solar bike project. No it looks like he's been playing with a Bosch Active Line Motor, and running it with an external controller. IIUC, with an external controller...

Replacing a spoke - I thought it was easy!!

You won't have damaged the meter because the current went between the probes, not through the meter. You can test it on an AA battery or similar. More likely, you've blown the fuse in the battery. Follow the red wire from the connector to see if it goes to a blade fuse.

    TSDZ2 36 V AND 48V NIGHT AND DAY

It's basic physics. Brushless motor speed is directly proportional to the applied voltage. As the speed increases with voltage, the band of maximum efficiency moves up with it. If you wanted a 36v motor to have the same speed as a 48v and its efficiency in the same band, you would either have...
