Add power selector to old Powacycle

You should get the 15 amp sine wave controller from PSWPower.com. In the options select the LCD3 and the speed sensor. Your throttle, pedal sensor and brakes will work with it, but you might have to rewire a couple of connectors. If you want to guarantee compatibility of connectors, you can buy...

Carrera Cross city e power problem

You've probably blown the fuse in the battery. maybe the second bike had reverse polarity. You have to check where the wires go.

Peter, is that a weird photo or is there something wrong with your forks? It looks like you've ridden your bike into a brick wall.

Your gearing looks a bit low. Do you know about DNP freewheels? What sort of torque arm did you use? I can't see any in the photos. We don't do many high power builds on this forum. You'd be better looking on Endless-sphere for 3kw MXUS builds. There are loads there.

Cut off the connectors and solder the wires together. You don't need connectors.

    A Further Introduction!

You have to think about who's going to fix it when it's out of warranty. I have a friend who bought one second-hand because it was cheap. Now the motor is goosed and he can't get it fixed. It looks like the faulty motor has destroyed the LCD too, so he's looking at a bill of over £1000 if he...

    bbs02b 500w 36v question

I gave you the numbers in post #16. Hill-climbing speed is directly proportional to power, so if your 900w system takes you up a particular steep hill at 9 mph, the 1200W one will go up at 12 mph and the 1440w one will go up at 14.4 mph.

    Cyclamatic CX2

Let's make it simple. Positive pin on the charger has to go in the positive hole in the battery socket and the negative pin goes into the negative hole. When you've checked each with the meter, mark the positive pin, so it's obvious whether you have the polarity right when you bring the charger...

    Help! Battery cell

Hardly anybody uses pouch cells anymore. Most likely, you'll need to replace the whole cell-pack with an 18650 one.

Replace / Upgrade of lcd 790 display & controller.

His LED panel is a sort of voltmeter. It shows a healthy voltage on the battery because all the LEDs are lit. If his battery were the cause of his non-running, not only would you see that by the LEDs not being lit, but the panel would switch off completely as soon as he started to pedal.

    handlebars

Raleigh North Road or North Rounder. Both cost about £13. Humpert Moon Cruisers are a bit cheaper. Basically, you're looking for trekking handlebars. Those mentioned are 1" in the centre. Your stem is 1 1/8" IIRC, but you don't say whether you have the City or MTB version. If you presently...

Replace / Upgrade of lcd 790 display & controller.

Before you start anything, it's worth having a quick look at the pedal sensor behind the chainwheel. There should be a gap of about one millimetre between the disc and the sensor, and it it should stay like that while you rotate the crank. Sometimes, the magnet disc comes loose on its shaft and...

    bbs02 power cutting out

If the LCD goes off, it's because the voltage from the battery has been interrupted, so you have to look at your battery and its connections for a solution.. Measure the voltage hot off the charger and again immediately after it cuts out.

    LCD S866 + Brainpower controller

It might be PAS disable. Sometimes they refer to to PAS levels as gears. I wish i could remember what the problem that I had was. It was something really unusual, like the PAS only worked once. If you stopped pedalling, it wouldn't start up again unless you switched off and on again. I had to go...

    bbs02b 500w 36v question

It's exactly the same except you get a difference in torque and power, which is dead easy to explain. BBS02 is 25A max times 36V = 900W or 48V x 18A = 864W. The BBSHD is 48V x25A = 1200W, but can go up to 52V or 30A so 1440W max. The BBSHD is heavier, but you don't really notice it when riding.

    Kit controller

Has anyone done a high mileage with one of these motors, who can comment on reliability? By high mileage, I mean only 1500 plus miles. I've seen quite a few problems reported, but not in the context of how much they've used. I get the impression that these motors give more problems than they...

Add power selector to old Powacycle

Your motor controller doesn't have provision for that. The easiest way to get what you want would be to buy a replacement controller that provides a range of power levels. If you have a throttle, you can change it to a thumb throttle and add a friction lever to turn it into a cruise control...
