I have a STVZO one off AliExpress with the integrated horn, they need a Wuxing handlebar switch to operate for on/off and horn. The ones without horn don't need the handlebar switch as they have one on the rear of the light.

The weight of the motor is ideal for lightweight riders but if he is a big burly trucker then it will struggle, if he is only about 10st it will be ideal.

It is not smart chargers that are needed but smart BMS with Bluetooth or pc/uart connection to adjust the charge/balance parameters, currently only available for self build or a bespoke non oem battery. A smart charger simply cannot carry out the BMS job of balancing.

Why are you ? They are selling legal pedelecs so now seem to be applying the letter of the law. If you want throttle and de-restriction then simply buy a different bike. As ebikes move forward we may see more of these not so easy to tamper systems on more bikes.

Yes, take a spur off the controller/battery feed and add a fuse in line after the controller on the voltage line between it and the light switch. Only my town/commute bike and my Swizzbee's have permanent lighting run off the battery, my other ebikes I use USB or 18650 lighting.
