further investigation of battery cutting out before set LVC

Your charger doesn't have any sort of balancing mode. It's a standard CC/CV charger that holds the current at a constant value (written on it) until it approaches the maximum charge voltage (written on it). It then switches over to hold the maximum voltage constantly by applying whatever current...

    DIY Mechanical Dongle

It's you that's not getting it. Since most ebikes can have the limit speed changed, that would render them all illegal. It's the interpretation of what that means that we're discussing. The capability to derestrict is available for every electric bike ever made. That doesn't change simply...

    DIY Mechanical Dongle

This is exactly the point of discussion. The question is how easy does it have to be to be illegal? what you've done is express your opinion on what you feel is reasonable. In my opinion, it's a daft clause in the regulation. It should be eliminated. The rule should be that it's illegal to ride...

Odds on Tommy Robinson getting his MEP seat now slashed to 11/8. He was 15/1 when I got my bet down. https://www.oddschecker.com/politics/european-politics/european-parliament-elections/tommy-robinson-to-be-elected-to-the-european-parliament-in-may-2019

    Juicy bike

The Juicy bike has been around for as long as I can remember. The experience gained from the millions of miles done over all those years has been fed back into development and improvements. It uses tried and tested standard Chinese parts with a good reputation for reliability that are readily...

    Kit recommendations

It's not good to have two batteries on a bike at the same time. Weight is an enemy to efficiency, and it makes the bike less comfortable to ride. It would be better to store the spare battery somewhere and swap over half way through the shift. Every 1kg that you add to the weight of the bike...

    LCD S866 + Brainpower controller

Changing the PAS signal probably won't help. It's more likely a time delay in the software. How long does the motor run on after you stop pedalling? If you're going to change the controller, it's worth spending a bit more money to get a KT controller. The control system and feel of the bike is...

    remove speed from samebike 20lvdx30

You shouldn't buy a replacement controller unless yo have tested your present one and found the fault, otherwise you might be wasting your time and money. See post #24 here. https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/replacement-electronic-controller-required.34539/page-2

    DIY Mechanical Dongle

We all know what the law is as far as it's written. You didn't answer the question on whether a Bosch or Yamaha powered ebike would be illegal when you can change the speed limit by applying a simple procedure. I'm challenging your interpretation of the law because in a previous post, you...

    Help! Replacement electronic controller required

It won't fit, and what's more, it might not work with your battery anyway. I'd go for the 17 amp one from PSWPower. The extra two amps or whatever it is will give you a bit more speed up the hills.

Ordered the wrong controller, will it work?

I'm pretty sure that the answer is no. The LCDs have a volt rating written on the back too. Some are limited to 36v, some, 48v and some 72V. Look carefully at the back. If it says 24v/36v, you'll need a new LCD as well as the controller.

Just because you expressed an opinion, it doesn't mean that you corrected anyone. If what you said is true, just about every single ebike that you can buy in shops is illegal, since you can change the speed setting on any of them. They all have a back door into the speed setting if you know how...
