    Clarks cantilever brake pad deal

That's GoOutdoors. Last time I went into their shop to buy a bike, they wouldn't let me have it because they're not a normal retailer. Don’t ask me why, but you have to join their club or whatever it is before you can buy anything. Secondly, those pads are the type that would melt on an...

    250W geared motor performance

Quite correct, however, I'm not talking about the maximum speed set in the LCD. Instead, I'm talking about the motor reaching its maximum RPM, which depends on its copper windings and the battery voltage. If your motor is still whirring at 37 MPH, something is wrong with your bike, like the...

Chain slipping in hardest cog on rear

Yes, I know they wear, but the question is whether they wear more or less with a slightly worn chain. My logic and understanding seems to indicate to me that the wear should be the same or less. If that's not true, I'd like someone to explain to me why or how without drawing conclusions from...

Chain slipping in hardest cog on rear

...but the wear only happens on the leading edge, and when the chain wears, the increase in pitch moves the following rollers away from it, so wouldn't wear be less? Surely, the reason small sprockets wear faster is because they have fewer teeth to spread the wear over?

New project female frame 26 " wheels

Energy follows a square rule, so if you go 40% faster (average up from 10 mph to 14mph) you need to dissipate twice as much energy when braking. On a non-tandem bike, roughly each 1kg of weight added means 1% more energy needs to be dissipated, so with a typical conversion adding about 7kg to a...

Yes, it's for a 26" wheel, which is what I was looking for. Please let us know the test results.

Chain slipping in hardest cog on rear

Please explain that to me because I can't see how it can happen. The chain rollers sit in the same position in the sprocket and drive it the same way regardless of the state of chain-wear. If anything, there should be less wear because the approaching rollers won't be dragged down the leading...

    250W geared motor performance

The motor has a maximum speed. If you go downhill faster than what the motor can spin, the speed shown will be the motor's maximum speed, not the bike's speed. When the motor is driving the bike, it feels like the resistance is low because the motor is doing work. When you drive the bike faster...

Broken BMS Phylion Battery JCEB360-8.8 - Help

It would only need one or two wires to read an NTC, so perhaps something else is going on. As I said, you can buy a dumb charger for around £18 and convert your battery with a dumb BMS. You should get a BMS that can output at least 25 amps.

Yes, but before adjusting P3, make sure you test the speed with level 5 on the LCD, or see if you get adifferent speed on each of the 5 levels.

Chain slipping in hardest cog on rear

The chain has worn a bit so that it doesn’t have enough tension in top gear. You can probably solve it by adjusting the B-screw on the back ofthe derailleur.

    Advice for 20" hubs.

You need to get your freewheels on to check and adjust the width ofthe motor. Don't touch the spokes yet in case you have to centre the wheel in the crame.

    250W geared motor performance

Does the speed shown on the LCD go to zero when you freewheel down a hiĺl? Lift the wheel off the ground and turn it by hand in both directions. One way should be free and the other way, you should feel the motor turning.

You must check whether the controller is restricting the speed. You have to charge up the battery to full, then measure the no-load speed. Go out for a ride and run the battery as far down a significant amount, like half way, then check the speed again. If the second measurement shows a...

Broken BMS Phylion Battery JCEB360-8.8 - Help

You can buy a standard 2-wire charger for £18. The BMS will cost about the same. Cut the connector off your charger and wire just the + and - to the new one, or change the connector in the battery to match the new charger. Your only hope of getting one of those OEM PCBs is to take one from an...

Contact Speedict. The Mercury or Mars are really good devices for that. They don't list them anymore, but it's a one-man company, and I'm sure he has a few left over. They were about £60. This is what you get.
