    Xiongda Motor?

That looks awfully like an aluminum insert into a CF tube.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

And they want to come because they speak "English". See @flecc, your wishes will come true, all the English speakers dream of coming to live in England, home of the mother tongue er... tongue they learnt at school or watching TV or somewhere... What they weren't telling you during the Brexit...

    Why Derailleurs gears?

An ideal derailleur set up for an e-bike is an 8 speed. I have a 7 speed and you are either missing a high enough top gear or a low enough bottom gear with the cassettes on the market. In 8 speed you have 11-34 which is my personal nirvana. I have opted for a 12-32 7 speed which is almost there...

‘Quantum Leap’ in Battery Innovations Presented at Eurobike

If they aren't out of balance you don't have to balance them, simples :) I think that one lipo alarm on the weakest pack should be enough but as I am on the open road the more buzzers going of the better! What's that you said? Hard of hearing? If the battery was in a box on the bike...

I wonder how often this happens?

I just take the battery off and ride. The extra 3 kg of GSM slung down low don't affect the speed of an already heavy (14.1 kg + mudguards + Big Bens + stand + rack + lights) trekking bike much. I wouldn't try riding it to Hendaye and back because I would have to push it up the hills despite my...

Write to bmsbattery and ask for 3.65 V cutoff and 4.15 V charge max Get bms with wrong cutoff values, send back Repeat till they get it right Solder lots of tiny, tiny wires ... Or plug and ride. The new alarms do cut off at 3.65 volts rather than 3.6 or 3.7, I'll be having some more of those.

    Italian pedelec crash *ouch!*

I bet many more of you are of Italian origin than you realise what with an Italian (Roman) occupation of 360 odd years. Plenty of time to have babies three and a half centuries! Check your DNA... ;) Yes, yes there were mercenaries, I did history at high school too.

‘Quantum Leap’ in Battery Innovations Presented at Eurobike

My very own quantum leap, mounted yesterday. I am drawing peak 0.75C rather than 1.5C and voltage sag is 0.6 V rather than 5 V at peak Amps... Cost 225.73€ for +16 Ah usable from 20 Ah. A quality Li-ion battery of the same capacity is >600€. OK you get a BMS instead of lipo alarms...

I wonder how often this happens?

Weather permitting (breaking waves and strong winds, no thank you, been there...) for exercise I would take rowing over cycling any day of the week. Then again here, when the weather is like that, it isn't practical to ride a +25 kg e-bike either, the gusts are dangerously strong.

On sale in the EU store. Swank cardboard box with magnetic latches (!) padding and "felt" bag which is so black you can' get it to show in a photo :p Why don't they just put it in a cardboard box like mutlistar and knock some more off the price? These are the batteries they like to sell to...

I wonder how often this happens?

I'm still here! :) <muttering in background> When will he go away... </muttering> :D I tried the rowing machine but didn't have enough cash to buy a decent one so I just built a boat and rowed that instead. I would still have it if someone hadn't taken to it with a machette and tried to sink...

More math: We need the same power in a 60% smaller form factor We need 60% more power in the same form factor We need the same power 60% cheaper or a rise in revenue so that all people in the EU (sorry, not you...) get the same amount as the Germans and can all afford a 2500€ pedelec new every...

    BBS02 & Vitus Nucleus - won't fit in bracket

Yeah but it isn't standard, I was talking about the stock BB you unscrewed in the first place. I expressed myself badly, sorry.

    BBS02 & Vitus Nucleus - won't fit in bracket

Be aware that a loose BBS or other mid drive will destroy the thread that you may wish to later screw a normal bottom bracket back into. You may be lucky and be able to cut a thread back into the BB shell, or not.

    Battery fire in July

Tesla has good QC and yet its multi-thousand buck cars have burnt to a crisp thanks to a faulty cell or two. Phones and laptops burn. Hoverboards - you are literally walking on fire... There is no reason that a Bosch or other battery pack wouldn't spontaneously burst into flames if a Li-ion...

    Boncho: Good/Bad?

I always wear a cap under the hood, that way everything turns when you turn your head thanks to the visor. It also keeps the rain out of your eyes... Of course now I have a helmet with screen :D
