The problem with E-bikes in the UK.

Hiring is what many do for the odd long journey. Cyclezee drives electric and I think he has hired in that way. In the early e-car days the depreciation was horrendous. I once saw a 6 month old £27,000 one sold for £10,500 with hardly any miles on it for example. Terrifying. But that's...

The problem with E-bikes in the UK.

Just checked on car gurus listings: A top of the range 2016 Nissan Leaf Tekna with around 6000 miles on the clock for £16,000 to £16,500. A middle of the range 2017 Nissan Leaf Acenta which has almost everything on it anyway for only £15,000 with under 3000 miles on the clock. You'll see...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

What a difference from the UK. I've just learnt that Germany and France have already produced draft legislation on what happens to personal things like status and benefits for their resident UK citizens in the event of a no deal Brexit. Even Italy has made pronouncements. We haven't even...

I had a toothbrush for one of my bikes. I used it for greasing the chain. .

The problem with E-bikes in the UK.

Maybe, but will I still be driving then? With a friend and neighbour having his driving licence rightly taken from him at 85 due to an increasing blind spot in his peripheral vision, similar could happen to me even if I last for many years. I feel sorry for him since it's very badly affected...

But it's a government consultation exercise so will only come into being after I'm dead. :( .

The problem with E-bikes in the UK.

True on outlay, but e-cars easily match and exceed the other factors. But depreciation isn't such a big factor, since as said, e-car owners keep theirs long term. Yes not for very high mile munchers, but to say they are only for running around town or city is the usual sort of gross...

The problem with E-bikes in the UK.

I find this all the time with this subject, too much negativity. One Leaf has already done over 100,000 miles in 6 years! Bought as a West of Engand taxi, it's operated continuously ever since for that and is still using the original battery, the owner claiming little loss of range. There'll...

    Have I bought a Lemon?

Brilliant, e-biking for under two hundred quid. Well done to yourself and Kirstin. .

The problem with E-bikes in the UK.

Fully understood Andy, your circumstances are very different from the majority of drivers. Which is just as well of course, we couldn't cope with very large numbers switching even though so many could, since we haven't the capacity to supply their electricity needs. But we who use them aren't...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Indeed, but they aren't British. Half of the Northern Irish would be very deeply offended at being called British and nearly half of the Scots aren't very keen on that title either, since they weren't even Britons under the Romans. We are all United Kingdom citizens, of our own countries...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Quite simply they are all wrong, this has long been a misunderstood subject. To fully understand it's worth fully translating that passport title: For United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, instead read: United Kingdom, comprising England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland...

The problem with E-bikes in the UK.

That's correct, towing is out and no towbars are made for them. It's a matter of design for load and weight with a single gear covering the whole speed range. With their immense torque from zero revs they can definitely tow easily, but at the huge cost of rapid battery drain during the much...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

They aren't British passports for any of us, as on the title they are for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. That combination is the nationwide and internationally recognised UK, so they are UK passports:

Need New Handlebars Due to Accident

That's an awful lot of bracing back together Paul, my sympathies. I hope that over time you are able to adapt enough to no longer notice too much the difference it's brought to your arm. .

No they never have been, N.I. is in the UK. Britain is just England and Wales. Great Britain is England, Wales and Scotland. Only those from the latter two are British, those from N.I. are Irish. .
