Front hub 48v motor for very hilly area

Very nice job. In all aspects barring a full off road mud bike a good hub will be 'more than ' for most uses. High torque low speed is the way to go and 18mph tbh is plenty. Usually front wheel conversions are a poor choice but with the cargo bike, the low CofG load just behind the wheel is ideal.

use small cells to bulid battery

3 x 18650 will need at least 37/38mm for a tri configuration though more like 40mm or more to allow for when shrink wrapped together and wiring. On top of that you will then need a small BMS.

use small cells to bulid battery

    Enercig 32600 /5500mah & 16.5a, these stats alone mean it's a poor choice.

    Help with LCD Display?

For speedo reading P2/1 is normal if an ext sensor with spoke magnet is used, if not try P2/6. P6 is a custom setting and as mentioned by vfr is something to do with the dual 250/1000w motor setting. My Lcd1 doesn't have P6 as it is a non custom item. If I need to make any changes with a LCD1...

Downtube battery on a step-through frame - is it safe?

Your bike frame is strong as it has a mini gusset forming the triangle at the bottom of the frame.

Is the extra 5 amps chewing up my range?

When I select cells/battery packs I ignore the mah rating and look for discharge stats 1a - 5a discharges and there mah rating down to 3.2v as this effectively is the most you will discharge a cell to and the actual capacity you will get.

    Help! Batteries.

I lay my sense wires on a strip of Glassfibre tape and them another strip on top, hot glue doesn't rate high up on my list.

    Custom bike stolen

Likely hood once the scum has no use for it , is it will be dumped or sold. Whether it appears on web sites or locally for sale is anyone's guess, it will have a limited market due to it's diy build. The scum probably won't know it's voltage or battery chem so will need to find a charger...

Which Donor Bike to start with?

It sounds like you are comparing chalk vs cheese. The cheap hub probably is a 1000w D/D hub (it is very heavy is a clue and gives the game away) inefficient compared to a lighter geared hub (about 3 - 3.5kg ). Comparing a D/D with a mid drive BBS 250w is no comparison so it will prove to have...

Is the extra 5 amps chewing up my range?

Pulling more current will affect battery range and mileage, that extra current has to come from somewhere so the cells are being asked to work 20% harder.

    Custom bike stolen

Probably might not have helped where the bike was positioned /locked up Cwah as the wall shielded him whilst disabling said lock/chain. Though it is possible that he may have targeted your ride as I expect you leave it at the same place regularly and he has seen it many times before. At the very...

    Custom bike stolen

Sorry to hear Cwah, I know you put a lot of effort in to customising and bespoking your ride for your requirements. If I lived and worked in London It would be a small folder like the Kwikfold so I could take it with me.

    The Cycle Show

The Revos is just another engineering version of the friction drive (as with this type of drive tyre wear will occur quicker) and doesn't have a release mode to move it clear of the tyre if needed, the reverse pedal action is quite good though the sensor can slip round on the chain stay and...

    Third ebike?

Perseus I use a 700c Boardman CX with sus forks for 95% of my rides and pass down your neck of the woods by using the Downs link from Guildford or catch it at Copsale as well as transiting various trails on the S/downs I have little issue with 100mile/160km rides. Simply fitting 42mm tyres gives...

    Battery care and safety

My batteries for added protection I now use only the 20mm spacers to build my packs, top and bottom of pack I use 0.8mm epoxy glass sheet and fibreglass tape as binding before shrink wrapping.

Cyclotricity 250w front hub kit: KT LED890 issues

Could be, I haven't bothered looking to count the speed sensor magnets in Bafang CST but assume it has 6 as on P2 #1 I see no speed indicated when coasting only when motor is operating under power but P2 #6 and I get a speed reading when coasting. My Yose hub and Akiema both work normally...
