Hobby king multi star on offer

My first real world test has just ended: 118.8 km from a full charge on both batteries. 70 km on the Li-Ion battery and 48.8 km on the Lipos. One of the cells in the 4S pack (#3) got out of balance (0.1V) and dragged the rest of the battery down below the 36 V cut off otherwise I think I was...

    Help & Advice Please.

200 Amps at 37 V isn't too shabby either and 320 € for a 16 Ah 37 V (4 x 5C connected 2P 2S) battery is about half the price of a 16 Ah Li-Ion battery. I looked at nanotech but they were out of my budget range at the time, I like the form factor they fit in small places.

    Off topic battery

An update now that my computer is fixed, it died a couple of days after the tablet battery... Heads up to other nexus 7 owners: My nexus 7 is the 2013 model, much slimmer and different battery to the original nexus 7. When the external battery is plugged in it is seen as an AC charger. So now...

    Help & Advice Please.

I was just trying to imagine a standard sized battery giving 100 A. I know that with enough Lipo you can go that high <evil laugh>...

    Help & Advice Please.

Can you get 100 A from a 48 V battery? As well as the 250 W and 25 km/h remember there is a 48 V cap on maximum legal voltage.

    BBS01 in the Alps

Also think hard about what type of battery you use. A BBS01 will be fine but 20% over a km will cause some serious battery sag, get one with quality cells. A 15 or 17 Ah battery will be the best idea so that you have plenty of reserve left for the final climb.

    Pannier racks

Not expressing myself correctly (I just got out of bed...) If the rack is mounted tilted it is an error I meant to say.

    Pannier racks

If they tilt it is a mounting error because even correctly fixed panniers will slide forward with the vibrations of the road and you will have heel strike in a jiffy. Also you can't attach a box full of veg bought at the local market on a tilting rack...

DPC-14 Display-for BBS any one got one yet?

They have gotten most of it right. I don't care much about colour. And when will we get total Wh used? Volts is good, current Watts used is what I have now and don't care so much about you kind of know with experience what you are using depending on slope and assistance level. And a clock! At last!

Looking after a new Lithium ion battery - help please

Another way to look at it is take the price of the battery and divide by 3 then by 52 and you will have a weekly cost for the battery. Mine is 2.37€ which comes to about 0.02€ a km. My new Lipo battery is 0.03€ a km but calculated over one years use! I am not losing any sleep about battery...

    SRAM X01 & XX1 Eagle 12-Speed - First Look

I am surprised there is no e-bike specific cassette yet with wider range between gears. The only ones I have seen who have actually thought about e-bikes is pinion. Is there the possibility to build your own cassette or freewheel from scratch with your own chosen gears?

    Well, it's electric...

Tractor type tyres for the winter! In any case I would prefer having a 40 kg e-bike falling on my legs rather than a +120 kg 4 stroke Honda and wondering how I was going to get out from under it - imagine top half of body downhill and slope at about 45%... And not having to worry about hot...

Looking for my first electric bike

Welcome! On conversions: "savings aren't that great", savings on/over what? I have posted here before "is it a toy or is it a tool?" If the bike is to be a means of transport (tool) then your budget needs to be stretched to the limit because you want the best quality. I have a free bike that...
