Are ebikes worth the price tag?

I love motorbikes, I don't have a licence but 125 cc is plenty for getting about around here on country roads where you can't go faster than 115 km/h anyway without risking killing yourself. Does it come with a trailer hitch so I can go shopping? Plus registration, plus insurance, plus can't...

Are ebikes worth the price tag?

3899€ he can have my money (if I had it) any day of the week for one of these! http://www.herkelmannbikes.com/shop/e-trekkingbike/ Exists with a bar that is harder to lift older legs over too :D One day I am going to send him 130€ for a pair of those mudguards with incorporated pannier bars...

    GSM 250w any advice

Wheelie (controlled, acting my age...) in fourth from a red light! Didn't realize I was in fourth and feeling that I was slow away from the line stood on the pedals a wee bit... Wheelies in second are easy peasy :) Loving the torque! First time back up the 2 km climb with some...

Bikee Bike Best central motor - Kickstarter

Bikee has been cooking up their motor for a while and I believe they might have a good product: This looks like a very good motor. Lots of copper. A 48 V battery (maximum legal limit for us Europeans) They are suggesting realistic ranges (depending on assist level) and.. Smokey burnouts...

10'000 miles (Or 16093km sounds better)

We are missing "humongous high five, congratulations" in the little icons at the bottom so I have written it in all letters! With the new bike I can see myself doing more kilometers in the off season. How many more than 3200 km a year I don't know. I walk 5 minutes to work. SWMBO insists that I...

    What's my velocity?

I don't have a working speedo so I don't know how fast I am going. A bit like riding a bike back in the olden days. :) Around town I would say that I average about 20 km/h On the open road about 26-27 km/h These figures are based on one years riding experience on my previous bike and I don't...

Are ebikes worth the price tag?

I sprayed with a can of mat black to get rid of the girly decathlon paint scheme and now everyone says "ooo what a good looking bike!"... Just can't win

Long time - Back on board need advice.

We have a bit of sand on the roads here and mixed with rain water it does a remarkable impersonation of ball bearings... I chose Big Bens over Big Apples because they look funky and they do seem to work better than the Michelin on sand.

Long time - Back on board need advice.

I'm running Big Bens now and really enjoying the comfort they provide. My Michelin City tyre was great to, surprising in the wet for a slick. The rear true managed 3200 km before sidewall failure (sign of being under inflated but was never missing air) which seeing the weight of the Mxus hub and...

Are ebikes worth the price tag?

A Lada replacement. Now we can argue over "is a Lada a real car?" I was thinking more along the lines of a good looking, comfortable bike with a trailer hitch. I do congratulate them on the 32 Ah battery. Mine will be LiPo so it will only cost the same price as 17 Ah Li-ion battery...

    B + M Lumotec IQ stopped working

I only have the battery version and 40 lux and have no problem at +50 km/h. It lights the road and not the tops of the trees and it doesn't blind oncoming cars. I will upgrade to the 80 lux e-bike version later in the year.

    B + M Lumotec IQ stopped working

OK I thought you were saying a black wire went from the light to the lcd and came back out again. That might have been the on/off switch wire. Looks like you need a multimeter and lots of luck and patience or both. Or you could just rewire direct to the battery and use the on/off switch on the...

    GSM 250w any advice

Neat and tidy is on my list of things to do, for the moment I need a means of transport... Gears are way up there on the list too. It isn't so much the 46 on the front that bugs me (road use only) but the 11-28 on the back isn't going to be enough when I am tired. If I was to be...

Is the on off switch on the LCD? In that case it will be your on/off wire which is normally the same colour.

Are ebikes worth the price tag?

When it isn't a toy but a full on car replacement and only means of transport one can easily justify the cost. A 5000€ pedelec which lasts 5 years will always end up cheaper per kilometer than a small car which will cost the same second hand (unless you buy a clunker which will cost more in...

    B + M Lumotec IQ stopped working

I disagree, I have never had such a good light and the way I am perceived by cars on the open road at night is worth twice that price. I digress... The voltage from the controller could be anything in the lights accepted range from 6.5 to 24 Volts. The rear light cable comes from the front...

Are ebikes worth the price tag?

Lets say that if my professional life hadn't gone off the rails and I could have afforded to buy a ready made I think many in the 2000-3000€ range are overpriced. Because I would have wanted to improve the things that are not quite right and probably added over 500€ at least and they should...

    Tandem Trike

Doesn't work at all? Doesn't work on startup? I think you will have to go into the options of the LCD 5 and probably into the messy C options to turn the throttle on first. By default it will be in walk assist mode. Does that work? Long press on the down button IIRC. Ciclotek always reply...
