    Brexit, for once some facts.

You anti-Corbynites amuse me with your delusions! Renationalisation is generally popular among the electorate, a clear 60% back renationalising Rail, Water and The Post Office. All three have been very expensive failures under private enterprise and most countries keep them public. And they...

    First confrontation.

As I've posted before, it's our fault we get called cheats. It's because as well as using pedals we still call them bikes, bicycles, cycles and call it cycling, even officialdom joining in by terming them EAPCs (Electric Assist Pedal Cycles). If they had another name, (Moped was the ideal one...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

No there wasn't, an illustration of how badly it was set up. It's widely thought that for such an important issue there should have been two requirements, a minimum turnout such as 70% and a minimum margin such as 60/40. Trouble is that David Cameron and many others in government complacently...

Which tuning should I buy to get 25 km/h speed limit taken away completely?

No, 45 kph would mean spinning about 95 cadence, fast on that sort of bike but not at all impossible. .

Battery upgrade or charging on the go

The tiny amount of charge you'd get from a rucksack size panel means it would be more trouble than it's worth. In places of constant bright sunshine closer to the equator much larger panels have been useful when mounted as a roof over the rider or over a trailer. Not very much use in the...

Two items in a row on the Radio 4 "You and Yours" program today: "There's been a large increase in cyclist and pedestrian collisions. Who is to blame, the cyclists or the pedestrians?". "There's been a large increase in cases of youngsters suffering sleep deprivation". If ever there was a...

You're right, some others have reported as much in here with front hub motors. I've always used wired ones on e-bikes. .

I get the same tailgating if holding to the limit, many drivers really resent the 20 limit in my borough. Overall most drivers run at between 25 and 30 mph now, which is 10 mph slower than they used to, so it has had a major effect. I believe this could have been the intention all along, just...

EU trying to impose insurance for E-Bikes

No, won't happen. They do things for a bonus, and with the smoking bans it was the health bonus to cut NHS costs long term. The pubs ill effect didn't matter since they were dying anyway due to drink prices. Cycling is in an opposite position, they want to encourage it to get people out of...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The idiot clearly doesn't realise how much this shows him as being out of touch. The majority of people in the UK don't have those, they just have debt and liabilities in many forms. Being as ignorant as this about the population's circumstances means he is unfitted to represent constituents...

Average speeds are not killers, impact speeds can be. To average 20 mph means speeds of double to treble that at times. If I stick to the 20 limit in my borough my average will be way lower after allowing for time in traffic queues, at traffic lights, crossings, roundabouts etc. .

In any case that statistic reflects a decrease in car deaths, not any increase in bicycle deaths. For many years the average number of bike deaths in The Netherlands has been about 200 per annum, so the huge growth in e-biking there hasn't made any difference to cycling deaths total. The...

Number plates or no cycling to school

The chump can't stop them cycling to school, he has no jurisdiction outside school and they can just lock their bikes outside. Or the kids could kill this stone dead by turning up on bikes without locks and having to be sent home when they refuse to leave their bikes outside. .

E-bike disassembly for travel on European trains

My Orly experiences were in the early 1960s on business flights in Air France Caravelles. Those were the days to fly, when not many did. Then I could drive to Heathrow, park very close to the terminal, check in 20 minutes before boarding and come back a week later and not be bankrupted by the...
