But what chance is there of them being any better than pre-1972? Just look at this example and the UK conduct of Brexit negotiations. Is it any wonder we have no faith? .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The Home Office have just advertised for an IT person to head up their Brexit IT implementation. It's caused a storm of criticism for being far to late, the view being that it should have happened two years ago or at least as the Brexit department was formed. There's so little time left before...

I was objecting to you quoting my post, unfair since I had specifically not assumed. Without the quote your post would havre been ok with me. .

I understand many of them here in London rushed to add a rear brake though, so it's had a desirable effect. Indeed they are an absolute menace to both road users and pedestrians in many world cities as well as London, and a high proportion ride fixies. .

Frankly if it's found the bike has illegally fast assistance and it results in a widespread crackdown on illegal e-bikes, I won't shed any tears. Sooner or later this whole issue is going to blow up, since illegal speed or power seems to be increasingly the norm. At least half the new entrants...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Apparently the Wiltshire production for New Zealand company Anchor is by Arla, a Swedish-Danish company who also own Lurpak and Cravendale. So just like with car manufacture and so much else in the UK, owned by foreign companies and the profits exported. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Anchor is a New Zealand company and their cheeses used to be only made there, but it seems that as they've grown larger they also locally source some products in many parts of the world. Butter production for the UK market was moved here in 2012. .

New Zealand remains a very large supplier of cheddars and butters to the UK market, the "Anchor" brand for example. .

Yes, this more than anything makes Minford's prediction a nonsense. For several reasons we are far more likely to increase duties to cope with a post Brexit economy. .
