Boris Johnson: "We are heading for a car crash Brexit." I wonder what BJ thinks his part in it was.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

where you and I may agree albeit not for the same reasons is that the UK will leave the EU on the 29th March like projected and brexit won't be reversed. Voting for the conservatives last year has put the UK on the path for brexit until the next GE or the GE after that. Eventually, voters will...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

it's already changed sine A50 was triggered but the future relationship is still to be decided. I guess that the UK will seek to extend the transition period until a bespoke FTA is agreed.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

you haven't. April is the starting date where negotiation about the future relationship can theoretically start. Before that, the political declaration in the withdrawal treaty has no legal value. I reckon it will take a lot longer to sort out a bespoke free trade deal than 2 years of...

Help in choosing E Bike. ( Mountain Bike )

None of them is as good as the Cubes mentioned before. The Eiger is no longer in production, the Striker is basic spec with a Zoom fork, the Gtech Escent is not much better, with a very small battery capacity. Treat yourself to a Cube. It comes down to what suits your requirements...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

we are not in brexit until there is an agreed deal. March is only an intermediary step when we are free to look elsewhere while not much has changed and reversal is still possible. Voters will quickly see (after March): - if and when there are benefits in brexit - who is telling the truth

    Brexit, for once some facts.

it's OK for a future government to reverse brexit and rejoin the EU too by the same token. All we need at the moment is for the impacts to be understood so that when a definitive deal is struck sometime within the next two years, a clear margin to emerge.

I don't know where the journalist (Angela Johnson) took her numbers from but this quote from the article seems unlikely to me: 12% of 2.5 millions = 300,000 - a lot more than I expected.

Convert high end 29er mountain bike or buy existing?

best bike for commuting in London is the Woosh Zpehyr. The battery is nearly impossible to steal, the bike can be folded so can be taken into trains if necessary, hydraulic brakes, good suspension, Bafang SWX02 motor, about one of the lightest full size bikes you can buy under £1500, not much...

go for the highest capacity you can. We have 13AH, 15AH and 17AH in both rack mount and downtube mount. The 17AH battery costs £50 more than the 15AH battery which costs £50 more than the 13AH battery.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I think we'll know well before March if there is no deal. Both sides pretend that the negotiation is very fraught so that they can fudge those red lines. The EU effectively sells 2 year SM access for £39 billions, mad not to take the money. TM has to save her own skin, she will shake that money...

    Selling and Buying Second-hand e-bikes

LiFePO4 has many well known advantages: safe, fast charging, many more charging cycles but their lower voltage means you need to pay for 11 cells instead of 10, so 10%-30% more weight and 10% more cost. In turn, those considerations attract slower development. You can get 2600mAH 18650 in...

I suppose the OP moved that motor to one with 73mm bottom bracket shell. The kit was made to fit 68mm BB shell. When he puts it on the new bike, he would have seen that the left crank won't fit until he trimmed 5mm off the silver cup.

Fear of dead pivots is unfounded. The pivot bolts are stainless. It's usually the nylon washers that need replacing. I keep spare pivot bolts, over the last 3 years, I have not come across anyone needing new pivots...
